McLaren ‘not pushing for change’ in porpoising debate
"I must admit to being a bit conflicted on it. The truth is we are not massively affected by porpoising, so we were not pushing for change," Lando Norris wrote in the Daily Telegraph.
"If there is a real danger that drivers could have long-term health consequences ... or that they could lose focus and crash, then something has to be done. Safety has to come first, and while it might not be affecting me now, these regulations are long-term.
"My main concern is that it is fair for everyone - ideally you would implement any changes post-season - but inevitably it is going to affect some more than others."
He told Sky: “I think what was interesting to see here, when you compare the ride height of the cars, [is that] Red Bull has been a massive outlier, it actually has rake again in the car, [whereas] we are on the far end, with a car that’s flat on the ground."
The Red Bull and Mercedes bosses, old adversaries from the controversial end to last season, have butted heads for the first time this season over the past week due to the FIA's planned intervention into the porpoising problem.
Wolff insists porpoising is a safety issue. Horner reckons Mercedes are trying to sneak a competitive advantage.

Horner said about a fiery meeting caught by Netflix cameras: “I think there was an element of theatre going on in that meeting, so maybe with Lewis's new movie coming along he's getting in role for it.”
He added: “Obviously Ferrari presented its position regarding the TD and Toto is campaigning for a change in regulations - which is somewhat ironic because his car looked quite quick today with not a lot of bouncing,” Horner said after Sunday’s race.
“And I think it was just pointed out to him clearly that perhaps his issues were within, rather than everybody's issue?”
Nico Rosberg said to Sky about the Mercedes duo: "That driver pairing is so strong, incredible, but, make no mistake, Lewis hates passionately to ever come second to a team-mate, so he will be ultra-motivated and pushing hard internally.
"The [Mercedes] car in the race was really decent. I thought it was so awesome how George right after the start made headway, passing one car after another down into the hairpin.
"I think they are making progress but there is still some way to go to Ferrari and Red Bull. They can't win at Silverstone, they are still too far away."
