F1 Singapore Grand Prix LIVE: Max Verstappen wins

Live updates from Sunday's Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix at Marina Bay.

KEY MOMENTS

  • Max Verstappen wins Singapore GP
  • Antonelli puts one hand on title in third
  • Hamilton sixth

The 2026 Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix takes place over 62 laps on Sunday.

It has been a fantastic weekend for Red Bull's Max Verstappen so far, with the Dutchman continuing his strong form from last weekend's Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia by taking pole and victory in Singapore's first-ever sprint race, before securing pole again for the Grand Prix.

Verstappen, who is looking to win the Singapore Grand Prix for the first time, overcame a challenge from the Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton in regular qualifying to claim his 50th F1 career pole by just 0.054 seconds.

F1 championship leader Kimi Antonelli starts from fourth as he looks to further increase his points advantage over Mercedes team-mate George Russell, which currently stands at 89 points.

It has so far been a weekend to forget for Russell, who squandered a chance to reduce his deficit to Antonelli by crashing out of the lead of Saturday's sprint race. Adding to the Briton's pain, Russell starts today's race from towards the back with an overhanging engine penalty.

The McLarens of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri line up fifth and sixth as they look to avoid a repeat of their clumsy collision in the sprint race that left the team extremely angry with its drivers.

F1 Singapore GP schedule

Singapore Grand Prix, 62 laps - 1pm BST start

11 Oct 2026
13:30

I think Bottas may have been faster cycling in this race. He's almost 13s from the back of the next car ahead of him, which is Lance Stroll, down in 21st and last place.

Tough night for the Cadillac driver.

13:29
Lap 16/62

Verstappen's lead has grown to 2.8s from Leclerc. Hamilton is still third from Antonelli, who hasn't been able to use his soft tyres to force a move yet.

13:28

Bearman's charge is continuing as he closes on Gasly for ninth.

13:28

Russell has four seconds to close down on Ocon ahead of him.

Hadjar is up to 16th from the pitlane.

13:27
Lap 15/62

Verstappen is now 2.7s clear of Leclerc at the start of lap 15.

13:27

Verstappen has been told it would be to Red Bull's benefit if he can "continue to eke this out".

The trouble Red Bull has is that Ferrari and McLaren have two cars right up there to have strategy options with. Red Bull doesn't.

13:26
Lap 14/62

Verstappen's lead is now up to 2.1s over Leclerc, while Hamilton is 5.4s further behind in third.

13:25

Russell has taken 12th from Sainz with a brave move.

13:24
Lap 13/62

Verstappen is now 1.5s clear of Leclerc.

Behind, McLaren has asked Norris if he thinks his suggestion in the strategy meeting is best; he replied "I think so".

13:23

So, is Plan C to undercut and try to overtake that way?

13:23

Leclerc has just suggested "Plan C and opposite to Red Bull" for Ferrari's race strategy.

13:22
Lap 12/62

No change at the front. Top two have broken away from the group behind, while the group behind is even further clear of the rest.

13:21
Lap 11/62

Onto lap 11 and Verstappen still leads Leclerc.

Hamilton is third from Antonelli, Norris, Piastri, Lawson, Hulkenberg, Gasly, Bearman.

13:20

Pitlane entry has been reopened.

13:20

Russell, meanwhile, is up to 13th.

13:20

Hamilton has faded 3.1s behind Leclerc now.

13:20
Car fire

Bortoleto's car is on fire in the pitlane. The fire marshals are on the scene, but that has closed the pitlane entry for now!

13:19
Lap 10/62

Verstappen leads Leclerc by about 0.6s at the start of lap 10.

13:18
Green flag - lap 9/62

The race is back underway.

13:18

Not really sure why Bortoleto didn't go into the pitlane when he had the chance.

13:17
VSC - lap 8/62

VSC is out for Bortoleto. Pitlane is still open but the leaders are carrying on.

13:16
Retirement - Bortoleto (Lap 8/62)

Bortoleto has stopped at the end of pitlane with a gearbox issue.

13:15

Here's a replay of the start. Look how close Leclerc got to taking the lead!
