Minardi To Test Dutch Champ.

Italian Formula Three champion - the Dutchman Donny Crevels - is to test with the Minardi team as a reward for taking the title.


Crevels became the first foreign driver to win the Italian series when he beat off the attentions of several locals this season, and will now try out a Minardi M198 at Barcelona next month. This marks a major turnaround in the Dutchman's fortunes, after his career appeared to stall with a lack of finance in the mid-'90s. Prior to this, Crevels had been a successful competitor both at home and in the Opel Euroseries.

(I am very happy to have this chance,) he said, (It will be a completely new experience for me, though, because, further to driving a 100 per cent unknown car, I have never driven on the Catalunya circuit.)


Team boss Giancarlo Minardi, already recognised as a finder of talent, was pleased to be able to give the young Dutchman a run in one of his cars.
