Magnussen to make F1 return?

Jan Magnussen looks set to return to Formula One racing next year if rumours in the Danish press are to be believed.

According to Danish magazine FDM the former Stewart GP driver is in 'advanced negotiations' to return to F1 in 2002. Presently Magnussen is competing in the American Le Mans series with Panoz Motorsports.

Magnussen made his F1 debut in 1995 when he made a one-off appearance for McLaren-Mercedes while Mika Hakkinen was out injured. The Dane then went on to race for Stewart Grand Prix in 1997 and 1998 before being replaced by Jos Verstappen. Magnussen's best finish came in his last race when he came home sixth in the Canadian GP.
