DAMS’ Alexander Albon took his first Formula 2 victory during a frantic feature race at the Baku City Circuit, ahead of Jack Aitken and Antonio Fuoco.

Alexander Albon claimed his maiden Formula 2 pole position for the Azerbaijan feature race, beating championship leader Lando Norris to the fastest time in a red-flagged qualifying session in Baku. 

Mercedes junior George Russell believes the 2018 Formula 2 field is the strongest in the history of the category, saying that as many as 15 drivers are capable of winning races such is the depth of talent on display.

Lando Norris says it "would be nice" to give McLaren a "headache" over its future Formula 1 driver line-up plans by winning the Formula 2 title in 2018, but is refusing to dwell on his final step up to the top tier of single-seater racing.

Lando Norris claimed pole position for the 2018 Formula 2 season-opener in Bahrain, pipping fellow Briton George Russell by just 0.062s.
