Miguez switches to Eurointernational.

The World Series by Renault grid continues to take shape after Eurointernational announced it has acquired the services of Celso Miguez for 2007, as the team seeks to establish greater stability following a troublesome 2006.

With the team playing host to ten different drivers throughout the season as they battled financial qualms, Eurointernational are thought to be have since acquired substantial funds that will allow them to continue their interests in the World Series, along with Formula BMW USA, Formula Renault V6 Asia and possibly also the Indy Pro Series.

A former 'World Series Light' runner-up, Miguez comes to the Italian team after an equally stunted season that was undermined by a disappointing start to the year at Pons Racing, his single point a far cry from the encouraging performances he managed with the team in 2005.

Nonetheless, a switch to the front running Comtec Racing from Donington Park invigorated his points tally, claiming a pair of sixth place finishes at Le Mans to end the season 24th in the standings.

Indeed, following a tough year, Miguez was pleased to have secured a deal with Eurointernational, stating his hopes to return the team to a former glory that saw them last secure a major title in 2004.

"I am very happy to be with Eurointernational in this season of the World Series," the Spaniard said. "They have demonstrated to me that they totally trust me, so I hope to return the team to a season full of successes as it was in 2004, when they gained the Eurocup FRV6 title.

"I want my first day of test of the season to arrive quickly, so I am able to work with my new engineer and my new mechanics. I have much confidence in my new equipment, and am sure that together, we will obtain our common objectives."

Eurointernational principal Antonio Ferrari is also delighted to be welcoming an experienced competitor on board following a season of constant indecision and 'pay-per-race' drivers.
