In the wake of a controversial penalty handed out to Scott Dixon at Sonoma that cost him the race win, a new rule covering pit lane etiquette has been introduced.

The new 2013 IZOD IndyCar Series rulebook has been issued to teams by race director Beaux Barfield, retaining the engine change penalties and adding new tweaks to the points system.
