Sam Lowes has declared himself “happy” with a top six finish in the first Moto2 race of 2019, with the three-time grand prix race winner citing the importance of collecting important points early into the season.
Luca Marini remains hopeful of approaching full fitness for the first round of the 2019 Moto2 campaign after the Italian spent his winter recovering from surgery on a problematic left shoulder.
Thomas Luthi has claimed he is “motivated like never before” as he makes his hotly anticipated return to the Moto2 class, where he hopes to prove “this old guy can still go fast.”
Sam Lowes is incredibly upbeat after the first day of official Moto2 testing at Jerez; “I don’t feel on the limit. I feel, ‘OK, that was a moment.’ Last year I didn’t have moments; I had crashes.”
It’s been quite a start to the season for Francesco Bagnaia. Still relatively fresh from announcing a deal that will see him climb to the MotoGP class in 2019, the young Italian has secured his first and second wins in Moto2 in the opening three races of the year.
