Ex-Pirelli chief Paul Hembery doesn't hold back in criticising F1's decision to announce plans for 15-18 races when he's convinced the season won't happen at all
Pirelli has selected the medium and soft compounds to bring to India this weekend, with the company saying that this should prove the best combination to encourage close racing.
After being tested by teams at last week's Young Driver Test at Silverstone, Pirelli's new specification will make their race debut this weekend at the Hungaroring.
Pirelli says it is close to agreeing terms for extra tyres in Friday free practice, but doesn't think the rookie driver requirement will be made mandatory.
"If we'd brought the hard tyre, we would probably be looking at one stop," says Pirelli's Paul Hembery. "We're confident that we're in for another action-packed race tomorrow."
