2025 24 Hours of Le Mans as it happened

Live updates from the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans

The 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans begins at 4pm CET on Saturday 14 June.

The showpiece event of the entire endurance racing year, the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans is the 93rd edition of the iconic event held at the Circuit de la Sarthe in mid-June.

Cadillac will be chasing an historic first victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, after it locked out the front row for a maiden pole earlier this week in Hyperpole.

The Jota-run Cadillac's of the No.12 and No.38 cars will lead the field at the start of the race on Saturday and could become the first American manufacturer to win outright at Le Mans since Ford in 1969.

Cadillac - who has four cars on the grid in Hypercar - will face stiff opposition, however, with six manufacturers expected to be in the mix for victory over the next 24 hours.

Last year's winners Ferrari struggled in qualifying, with the 2024 victor No.50 car only seventh, while the No.51 car and the No.83 AF Corse entry 11th and 13th on the grid.

Porsche will be aiming for a 20th victory at Le Mans and the first for Roger Penske, with the Penske Motorsport-run 963s starting from third, fifth and last in class. The No.6 entry was disqualified from Wednesday's qualifying results due to a weight limit infringement.

Toyota goes for a sixth victory at Le Mans on the 40th anniversary of its first visit to the French enduro, though it will do so from far down the grid, in 10th and 16th.

Other marques looking to push themselves into victory contention are BMW and Alpine, while returning Aston Martin and the Peugeot entries look set for a tough race.

Three classes will be on track, with the LMP2 field led off the line by the No.29 TDS Racing entry, while LMGT3 is headed by the No.27 Heart of Racing Aston Martin.

The race runs from 4pm CET Saturday 14 June to 4pm CET on Sunday 15 June, and is a double points round in the World Endurance Championship.

Jenson Button, No. 38 Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA V-Series.R:

"I struggled with the balance in that stint as I was on old tires. At the moment now, the focus is on bringing it home. We’ve had a few pit stops where we lost time cleaning out radiators, etc., so that hasn’t helped. We’re very good in high speed corners, you can see that from the race, but our straightline speed isn’t great and that really hurts you when you’re in traffic."

12:14

The No.51 Ferrari now leads on lap 341.

12:13

Matt Campbell has jumped into that No.6 Porsche. Looks like a full service for the No.6 of fuels and tyres.

12:12

The No.6 Porsche is also in.

12:11

That was just fuel for both of those Ferraris by the looks of it.

12:10

The No.83 and the No.50 are in the pits on lap 341.

12:04

Hypercar top 10:

  1. No.83 AF Corse Ferrari
  2. No.50 Ferrari
  3. No.51 Ferrari
  4. No.6 Porsche
  5. No.12 Jota Cadillac
  6. No.7 Toyota
  7. No.20 BMW
  8. No.5 Porsche
  9. No.15 BMW
  10. No.4 Porsche
12:01

Inter Europol continues to lead the LMP2 category with the No.43, while LMGT3 is topped by the Manthey No.92 Porsche.

2025 24 Hours of Le Mans - Hour 22

Three hours to go at Le Mans and this is an intriguing battle at the front.

The No.83 AF Corse of Robert Kubica leads by 12.3s from the No.50 of Nicklas Nielsen and the No.51 of James Calado.

The No.6 Porsche of Laurens Vanthoor is just a few seconds back of the podium places.

11:54

Calado has just been told is to stay in the tow and both cars will work their way to the No.83.

11:52

Nicklas Nielsen says "the fronts have gone" and says he can't triple stint on those tyres. He's passed the No.51 though.

11:51

The No.51 car gained a bit through the last few corners due to traffic. No.83 continues to lead onto lap 335.

This battle will really play into Kubica's hands. He didn't take tyres at the last stop, so a battle behind will allow him to extend his tyre saving.

11:49

The No.50 is right behind the No.51 now and is flashing its lights to get Calado to move out of the way.

11:45

The two factory Ferraris have pulled away from the No.6 a little here, but still a long way to go, so this battle for the podium will rage on.

11:43

The No.22 United Autosports LMP2 car is going very slowly out there. Some kind of issue for that car currently fifth in class.

11:41

The No.50 came back out in third just ahead of the No.6 Porsche and just behind the No.51.

11:40

The No.51 Ferrari is in the pits. Fuel only. Kubica goes back to the lead in the No.83.

11:37

Nothing to split the No.50 and the No.6 on that lap in terms of lap time. This could be a good fight with 3hrs23mins to go.

11:36

The No.50 Ferrari has been told that the No.6 Porsche behind is in sync on strategy. Currently just three seconds between them in that battle for third.

11:35

The No.8 Toyota will not get a penalty for an unsafe release, the stewards have announced.

11:34

So, it's the No.51 leading but due a stop soon. The No.83 is second from the No.50 and the No.6. Those three cars have stopped.

11:33
Green flag

Green flags are out again.

11:31
Full Course Yellow

Full Course Yellow is out for debris on track at Marshal Post 33.

11:30

Only fuel for the No.50 and the No.6 at that stop.

11:29

The No.83 looked to take fresh tyres at that stop. The No.6 appears to have stopped only for fuel.
