2025 German MotoGP: Race LIVE UPDATES!

Lap-by-lap updates from the 2025 MotoGP German Grand Prix

The German Grand Prix marks the halfway point of the 2025 MotoGP season, with Marc Marquez starting on pole.

Ducati rider Marc Marquez leads the championship by 78 points cominng into Sunday's 30-lap grand prix at the Sachsenring, after claiming a 10th sprint victory of the season on Saturday.

Dropping to fifth on the opening lap of the wet sprint, Marquez battled his way back through to snatch victory from Aprilia's Marco Bezzecchi on the final lap.

Marquez will be chasing a first German Grand Prix win since 2021 and a ninth in the premier class at the Sachsenring.

He will start alongside Johann Zarco and Marco Bezzecchi on the front row.

Conditions have been mixed all weekend and there is still a threat of rain for Sunday afternoon's grand prix.

Schedule:

Tyre choice

Michelin has confirmed that everyone is on the hard front and medium rear for this race.

12:57

The ground temp has gone up to 33 degrees just before this race.

12:55

Pedro Acosta's camp is pretty confident of a strong run for the Spaniard today from fourth on the grid.

He's yet to score a grand prix podium this year. At the same stage last year, he had two.

12:52

Alex Marquez also had a tricky sprint in eighth, but said his hand injury wasn't an issue for him.

However, 30 laps around this anticlockwise Sachsenring in dry conditions is going to really test his fitness today.

12:51

Big job on for Pecco Bagnaia today. He had a shocking run to 12th in the wet sprint yesterday and is coming from 10th on the grid.

12:46

Just 15 minutes to go.

12:42

MotoGP remains incredibly popular in Germany.

It has set a record crowd for the event with 256,441 spectators across the weekend.

For Sunday alone, the crowd figure is 98,573.

12:40

This race marks the halfway point of the championship and Marc Marquez starts it 78 points in the lead, after winning the sprint on Saturday.

Remember, he won every year at the Sachsenring between 2013 and 2021.

12:37

The initial tyre sheet suggests everyone will start the race on the medium rear and hard front.

But front tyre choice is a bit of a question mark as it is reasonably cool at the Sachsenring. It's currently 27 degrees C on the ground with just over 20 minutes until lights out.

12:36

Pitlane has opened for the field to carry out their sighting laps.

Marc Marquez is heading out to scrub in a set of wet tyres.

It's currently dry and we should get a dry race in. But there are some showers in the area that could affect proceedings.

12:35
Rider update

As you will notice from that starting grid, we're down to just 18 riders for the grand prix.

Maverick Vinales has been ruled out after suffering a shoulder injury in qualifying, while Franco Morbidelli has withdrawn following a crash in the sprint.

Enea Bastianini and Somkiat Chantra were already absent.
