Two crashes in quick succession: Raul Fernandez and Marco Bezzecchi. Fernandez at Turn 7 and Bezzecchi at the end of the back straight, after losing the front on the soft tyre. Both OK.
3 laps completed and Francesco Bagnaia is fastest from Aprilia's Marco Bezzecchi is setting the early pace.

The green lights are on and MotoGP FP1 at Motegi is underway.
While all eyes will be on Marc Marquez, FP1 might be more significant for Ducati team-mate Francesco Bagnaia, who is hoping the 'unconventional' change to his GP25 at the Misano test will carry over to Motegi.

There will be 23 MotoGP riders on track today: The 22 full-time competitors plus HRC test rider Takaaki Nakagami, who is making his fourth appearance of the season - but first after the knee ligament injuries at Brno.
Nakagami is the second home rider present, alongside Trackhouse rookie Ai Ogura.
The Moto2 class are currently halfway through their opening practice session, taking place in dry and sunny conditions, with an air temp of 28 degrees.
The weather forecast is generally good, but with a 10-20% risk of rain at some stage over the weekend.
