Michelin say that tests of the new rear medium compound - featuring the new technology for improved grip and consistency - have been successful (Crutchlow did his fastest lap with it). It will now be used as part of the future tyre allocation.
Just over an hour of testing to go and the top seven riders are covered by only 0.367s: Quartararo, Marquez, Rins, Morbidelli, Crutchlow, Lorenzo and Nakagami.
Lorenzo has been back on track after his earlier fall.

Cal Crutchlow climbs to third on the timesheets on his 68th lap, just 0.171s behind Quartararo. Marquez still second.

Marquez plans to finish testing around 5pm, and not the 6pm track closing time. Will he topple Quartararo by then?
Approaching 4pm and Rins makes it three manufacturers in the top three by putting his Suzuki third behind Quartararo and Marquez.
Marquez clocks up his 60th lap, one more than Lorenzo. Both Repsol Honda riders have been busy today.
Approaching 3pm and Aleix Espargaro still leads the most laps list with 63 so far today. the Aprilia rider is 11th fastest.
