It looks like a simple case of cold tyres for Mir and Abraham! They are out before the race really begins.

The warm-up lap for the French MotoGP is underway, but somehow Mir and Abraham went down at Turn 3! Zarco ran wide to avoid being skittled by bikes!

12:58

There are four previous French MotoGP race winners on the grid in Marquez (x2), Vinales (x1), Lorenzo (x5) and Rossi (x3). Will there be a fifth name to add to that list in the next hour?

Marquez: "I am so happy for the victory after a long time. It feels really good and is really good for the championship. This win is for the team as I was trying on the soft tyre in warm-up but we went for the hard tyre so thank you to them."

12:11

Navarro: "It was quite difficult as during the weekend we didn’t have time to setup the bike with this tyre. In Turn 8 I was unable to stop the bike there and maybe this cost me the chance to recover the distance to Alex. I took the maximum result and I am very happy."

12:11
12:10

Fernandez on his third place: "Yes I'm really happy as starting 14th is not easy as I was fighting a lot. In the end I could make my pace and make up places. When I arrived to Navarro I was on the limit. So I am really happy with this podium."

25/25: Marquez wins the French Moto2 race! Navarro holds on for second place ahead of Fernandez to complete an all-Spanish podium.

25/25: Last lap time! Navarro repeats his earlier move at Turn 3 and makes it stick this time on Fernandez. Avoiding a disaster Marquez has the victory sorted.

11:59

24/25: Marquez now leads by two seconds. Fernandez and Navarro continue to squabble over second place as Vierge drops back to fifth place behind Binder.

11:57

23/25: Fernandez has Navarro close for company again so it looks like it is a battle for second place rather than for the win. Navarro duly dives up the inside at Turn 3 but can't make the move stick as Fernandez sweeps back ahead.

11:55

20/25: Fernandez is certainly giving it a go as he sets a new race lap record at Le Mans to chip into Marquez's lead but it isn't enough to make a noticeable inroad into the gap to the leader.

11:55
11:53

14/25: A costly mistake running wide at Turn 8 from Navarro drops him to third behind Fernandez. Fernandez now has clear track ahead of him to hunt down Marquez.
