Quartararo: "I don't know how I did it. This last lap was really on the limit. This 2nd position is like a pole. We will see what we can do for tomorrow, but I'm really happy."

13:57

Dovizioso: "It's very important to start from the 1st row. We're a bit far from Marc but the pace is quite good. Let's see tomorrow."

Marquez cruises it - again. 0.434s around such a short track is quite something.

13:51

Quartararo jumps to 2nd right at the end, pushing Viñales off the front row. Nakagami goes 6th, 3 places up on Crutchlow. And Rossi's early promise is unfounded. The Italian will start 10th.

13:50

Now Dovizioso climbs a place to 2nd. Bagnaia is 5th, Rins 6th.

13:49

Petrucci, 11th at present, crashes at T4. It hasn't been a good day for the Italian.

13:48

Marquez makes the rest look silly - and not for the first time. A 1m 23.027s is 0.496s faster than Viñales in 2nd. A new outright circuit record. Incredible.

13:47

Dovizioso goes 3rd. But Marquez is about to put serious daylight into the rest...

13:47

The order iht 3 minutes to go: Mar, Viñ, Qua, Mil, Cru, Dov, P.Esp, Ros, Nak, Pet, Rin, Bag

13:42

The Ducati's have been subdued so far. Dovizioso just goes 6th and Petrucci 9th. Miller is the best of the Bologna bikes in 4th.

13:41

But here comes Marquez and the goal posts have been moved. A 1m 23.359s puts him a 1/4 of a second clear of the rest.

13:40

Viñales improves again, a 1m 23.628s. Quartararo is just 0.05s off and Crutchlow now sits 3rd.

13:39

The 1st laps come in and Viñales is the quickest rider so far. Marquez and Rins are less than a tenth off. Pol Espargaro has started well in 4th. But there is still some margin to improve.

13:37

Q2 participants: Dov, Pet, Viñ, Qua, Nak, Cru, Rin, Mil, P.Esp, Ros, Bag, Mar

Crutchlow does go fastest and Bagnaia backs him up, reclaiming 2nd! A shame for Oliveira, pushed down to 3rd after his own excellent efforts.

13:26
13:26

Crutchlow and Rabat are both vying for the top spots... Oliveira and Bagnaia are 1st and 2nd at present but that might not last for long!
