Last Updated: 23 Oct 2021 - 11:53

Live updates, quotes and results from Saturday Practice and Qualifying for the 2021 Emilia Romagna MotoGP at Misano!

The 2021 MotoGP title could be decided in this weekend's second and final visit of the year to Misano.

Fabio Quartararo arrives with a 52-point lead over Francesco Bagnaia and will be crowned champion on Sunday if he can maintain an advantage of at least 50-points on Sunday.

Bagnaia won September's first Misano contest, but only after withstanding a late charge by Quartararo as rookie Enea Bastianini surprised by completing the podium on a 2019-spec Ducati.

Whatever the outcome on Sunday, the chequered flag will mark the end of an era for nine-time world champion Valentino Rossi, who is competing in his final home race before retirement.

Countryman Danilo Petrucci is also be bidding farewell to the home Italian fans, before heading off-road in 2022, while returning triple title runner-up Andrea Dovizioso will be keen to measure his progress as he returns to the scene of last month's Petronas Yamaha debut.

After a nightmare weekend in COTA, Aleix Espargaro will be looking to revive his pace-setting Misano test form in Aprilia's home event, which will also see Maverick Vinales back on track with the RS-GP.

Marc Marquez will arrive on a high from his and Honda's second victory of the season in Austin, but a podium this weekend would be his first on a clockwise track since last July's right-arm injuries.

Tyre choice will be the same as at the previous Misano round but the weather is expected to be colder, with rain forecast for Friday and Saturday.

John McPhee goes third which relegates Fenati to fifth. Top four goes as followed... 1. Antonelli, 2. Rossi, 3. McPhee 4. Masia.

Antonelli improves again to go quickest, however, the same can't be said for Fenati who is in danger of missing out on a Q2 place.

Jeremy Alcoba has also gone down - turn 15.

Tatsuki Suzuki has crashed at turn four.

Andrea Migno has just got fastest though.

Niccolo Antonelli, Jaume Masia, Riccardo Rossi and Romano Fenati are curently occupying the Q1 top four positions.

Moto3 qualifying at Misano is underway!

That's it for Moto2 FP3. Bezzecchi finishes top but misses out on an automatic Q2 spot due to a position of 15th overall. A. Fernandez remained quickest from Gardner and Xavi Vierge.

Tommaso Marcon has crashed with just a couple of minutes to go.

Mattia Cassadei, who is replacing an injured Joe Roberts has crashed at turn four.

Ten minutes to go and Bezzecchi remains fastest in this session, A. Fernandez fastest overall.

Unlike the MotoGP session, improved lap times are proving hard to come by in Moto2 so far.

As it relates to this session alone, Marco Bezzecchi is currently quickest from Jake Dixon and Tony Arbolino.

Day-one pacesetter Agusuto Fernandez continues to lead the overall combined times from Remy Gardner in Moto2 FP3.
