The Gresini Honda rider, a race winner last season and a best of second so far this year, sustained the injury after tumbling awkwardly in the gravel following a fast low-side fall from his RC212V.

The full extent of the Spaniard's injuries are still to be confirmed, but he will definitely miss this weekend's event - just as he did last year, after injuring his shoulder in exactly the same session.
