53 years of 500 GP's comes to an end.

Australia's Ant West easily emerged top rider on a V-Twin machine and recorded his 10th points-scoring result from 13 starts in his first 500cc motorcycle world championship season yesterday in Malaysia.

Katoh clinches 250cc World Championship.
Daijiro Katoh claimed his first world crown in sensational style at Sepang today when he took victory in the 250cc Malaysian Grand Prix by a massive 15.6secs, to give him an uncatchable 34 point lead with one round to go.
Top Yamaha man McCoy slides into third.
Red Bull's Garry McCoy emerged as the top Yamaha rider in the Malaysian Grand Prix, finishing third after dropping as low as eighth, after an average start from the front row.

Garry McCoy's crew chief Hamish Jamieson received the leaving present of a lifetime from his team at Phillip Island - a ride on the two -seater Yamaha grand prix bike with Randy Mamola on Friday afternoon.

Two riders who have done as much to promote grand prix motorcycle racing in their respective countries than anybody else joined the MotoGP Hall of Fame at Phillip Island on Saturday morning.

Jurgen van den Goorbergh finishes tenth.
Proton Team KR rider Jurgen van den Goorbergh made sure of yet another top ten finish in yesterday's Australian GP, fending off former World Champion Alex Criville's Honda over the line, in spite of losing time through problems of his own earlier in the race.
