Suzuki MotoGP star John Hopkins has thanked his former management company Protac, with whom he has parted ahead of the 2005 season.

Iida visits JiR workshop, views new Honda.
Yesterday (Wednesday) saw Japan Italy Racing welcome their president, Tetsuo Iida, to the new Konica Minolta Honda Team workshop in Verona, Italy - where both he, and rider Makoto Tamada, were also able to glimpse the team's 2005 RC211V for the first time.
Doohan: Biaggi's no Rossi beater.
Someone new is needed to beat the all-conquering Valentino Rossi in MotoGP, that's the opinion of five-time champion Mick Dohan, who adds that he doesn't think Honda's lead rider for 2005, Max Biaggi, is the man to take the battle to his fellow Italian.

After being thrown in the deep end at the conclusion of the 2004 season, a BEng motorcycle engineering student from the Swansea Institute of Higher Education has secured a dream full time job with WCM.

Suzuki unveils new look GSV-R.
Team Suzuki unveiled a striking new paint-scheme for the 2005 version of its GSV-R at Bridgestone's New Year Reception in Tokyo today.

HRC drops Doohan.
According to reports, five-times 500cc World Champion Mick Doohan will not be retained as general manager of racing at HRC for the upcoming season - ending a 15-year relationship.

Stiff neck stops Barros, Bayliss 'finally happy'.
The final day of testing at Sepang saw Camel Honda rider Alex Barros ruled out after just ten laps with a bizarre neck problem, while team-mate Troy Bayliss was more fortunate and believes he's back on the right track after two days of frustration.

Biaggi fires back.
It may have been only his second day of riding since badly breaking his ankle last November, but newly announced Repsol Honda rider Max Biaggi proved he's already a force to be reckoned with as he cut over a second from his Sunday lap time to sit third on the Monday timesheets.

Kanemoto reunited with Biaggi for '05.
Erv Kanemoto, who left the factory Suzuki team at the end of last season, will be reunited with former rider Max Biaggi in 2005, with confirmation that the technical guru will switch to the Repsol Honda team.

Updated: Ducati unveils GP5.
Ducati Corse has today unveiled the Desmosedici GP5 (pictured) which will be campaigned by Ducati Marlboro Team riders Loris Capirossi and Carlos Checa in the 2005 MotoGP World Championship.

Revamped Team Suzuki heads for Sepang.
Team Suzuki riders Kenny Roberts Jr and John Hopkins are fired up for their first outing of 2005 - at Sepang, Malaysia, from January 21st-24th - where they will have their first chance to ride the latest version of the GSV-R.

Honda confirms Biaggi, full rider line-up.
In a statement outlining Honda's motorcycle racing activities for the 2005 season, the Japanese company has finally officially named Max Biaggi as riding alongside Nicky Hayden at the factory Repsol Honda team.

Four-times World Superbike champion Carl Fogarty believes that, Valentino Rossi aside, the current MotoGP ten top is no more talented than their equivalent in the World Superbike championship.

Schwantz: Super Karts more fun than a bike!
500cc world champions Wayne Rainey, Eddie Lawson and Kevin Schwantz, along with three-time US Superbike champion Doug Chandler, spent Wednesday testing for the Superstars of Super Karts race, one of the support events at this July's US Grand Prix at Laguna Seca.

Rule changes for 2005.
The Grand Prix Commission, composed of Messrs. Carmelo Ezpeleta (Dorna, Chairman), Claude Danis (FIM), Sito Pons (IRTA) and Takanao Tsubouchi (MSMA), have unanimously decided to introduce the following modifications to the MotoGP World Championship Regulations.

Burgess: Yamaha listened.
It's normal in the grand prix world for a new rider to bring at least one of his favoured mechanics, team helpers or personal assistants to his new team - but for Valentino Rossi things were a little different, and the Yamaha Factory Team was heavily revamped when he joined for 2004.
