Alex Lowes has taken top spot in the final free practice session from Friday’s fastest rider Jonathan Rea by just 0.010s ahead of qualifying in Brno.

The Pata Yamaha rider’s third flying lap saw him move ahead of Rea after he set the early pace on the opening laps of the 20-minute FP4 session. The defending World Superbike champion did keep ahead of Kawasaki teammate Tom Sykes, with Aruba.it Racing Ducati’s Marco Melandri also in close contention in fourth place.

Michael Ruben Rinaldi bounced back from his engine blowout from FP3 to take fifth in the final practice session for the factory Ducati squad in front of double Donington Park winner Michael van der Mark on the Pata Yamaha.

Chaz Davies was shuffled down to seventh place as a result for Ducati with Red Bull Honda’s Leon Camier continuing to catch the eye in eighth place despite missing the recent test at the Czech Republic circuit.

Eugene Laverty, who will have to battle through Superpole 1 after missing out on the top 10 yesterday, jumped up to ninth on his final lap on board the Milwaukee Aprilia while Toprak Razgatlioglu found significant gains on his Puccetti Kawasaki to move up to 10th.

Milwaukee Aprilia’s Lorenzo Savadori dropped to 11th at the end of the session ahead of Barni Dcuati’s Xavi Fores and Althea BMW’s Loris Baz.
