The defending World Superbike champion did keep ahead of Kawasaki teammate Tom Sykes, with Aruba.it Racing Ducati’s Marco Melandri also in close contention in fourth place.

Michael Ruben Rinaldi bounced back from his engine blowout from FP3 to take fifth in the final practice session for the factory Ducati squad in front of double Donington Park winner Michael van der Mark on the Pata Yamaha.

Chaz Davies was shuffled down to seventh place as a result for Ducati with Red Bull Honda’s Leon Camier continuing to catch the eye in eighth place despite missing the recent test at the Czech Republic circuit.
