Morley, who is currently competing in the Superstock championship for the Lloyds Autobody Racing team, is highly regarded for his speed, professionalism and versatility, and most recently demonstrated these skills when called upon to conduct testing duties for the high-profile Foggy Petronas WSBK team in Valencia.

Morley will compete in both the Superbike and Superstock classes this weekend, and welcomes the chance to put the Colin Appleyard Racing-run Yamaha R1 through its paces.

"I want to be in the Superbike championship full time next year, so this is a great chance for me to get some more experience and show what I can do," he explained, "It will be a busy weekend riding in both classes but, with the relatively short lap of the Brands Indy circuit, it's easier to get a load of laps under your belt quickly and this will help me get to grips with the R1 and not compromise my Superstock set-up. Actually I think the back-to-back comparisons will be quite interesting for both teams.

"I must offer big thanks to Paul Young, Colin Appleyard and Alan Taylor for having the confidence in me, and of course to the Lloyds Autobody team for their help. I'm really looking forward to the challenge."

Team owner Colin Appleyard admitted that he was pleased to have landed a rider of Morley's ability at short notice.

"Obviously, I'm delighted that we could get Jamie to stand in for Paul," he said, "At this level of racing, it's very important to us and our sponsors that we have two riders and I would like to specifically thank one of our key sponsors, Alan Taylor, for his help in securing this deal.

"I've no doubt that Jamie will do a great job for us this weekend, and we and our sponsors will have another fantastic round of the British Championship."
