A double podium, but Mercedes would have certainly hoped for more from this weekend. Yet again, the team has been beaten.
2026 Formula 1 world championship standings after the Dutch Grand Prix
Kimi Antonelli extended his lead in the 2026 Formula 1 drivers' championship with a second-place finish at the Dutch Grand Prix.
Antonelli is now 59 points clear at the top of the championship, pulling out nine points at the top of the table. But it is now Mercedes team-mate George Russell who provides the biggest threat in second place.

"It was a very intense race and we managed to get the lead. In stint one, I felt actually okay.
"But then from stint two onwards, I just didn't have the feeling with the car. I was sliding a lot overall, and at the end Lando passed me. I knew I had no chance after that.
"But then, of course, George was a great team player, and I'm really happy for him to have held on to P3 as well."

"It sounds boring, but one race at a time. I know a lot of people say it now, but it's the truth of it. There's no point thinking that far ahead. I need to concentrate now on having a nice little break.
"Obviously two great weekends, but we just need to reset, to learn as much as we can. I think there are still plenty of things we can do better, and we need to do better if we want to fight for a Championship.
"So, I'm very pleased with the team. I'm pleased with how much work everyone's doing, and so happy that I can deliver it for them and bring two wins in a row.
"But it's harder than I would like, and I want bigger gaps, so we have to keep working hard.
"There's still plenty of races, plenty of opportunity for everyone. So keep my head down, keep working, and they'll keep coming."

Lando Norris beats Kimi Antonelli to win final Dutch GP after big Max Verstappen shunt
Lando Norris made it back-to-back Formula 1 victories at a dramatic final Dutch Grand Prix, as Max Verstappen suffered a huge crash.
The reigning world champion lost out to Andrea Kimi Antonelli at the start but pulled off a crucial overtake on the Mercedes driver with a great move around the outside of Turn 1 in the second half of the race.

2026 F1 Dutch Grand Prix race results
Lando Norris won a thrilling Dutch Grand Prix as Zandvoort bid farewell to Formula 1 after six races back on the calendar.
Norris came out on top of a tense strategic battle after an opening-lap smash for Max Verstappen saw the red flags thrown.

Norris says he's not thinking about the title, just taking each race as it comes. It's a good thing to say...
A winner for the second race weekend in succession. A championship contender?
- Norris
- Antonelli
- Russell
- Hamilton
- Leclerc
- Piastri
- Lawson
- Hulkenberg
- Alonso
- Gasly
With a 10s penalty, Lawson is seventh, with Hulkenberg in eighth. Alonso is ninth with a season-best performance for Aston Martin. Gasly was P10, rounding out the points.
Norris has driven a spectacular race and makes it back-to-back wins. Antonelli is second, Russell clings on to third, with Hamilton and Leclerc fractionally behind.
Onto the last lap, and Hamilton is unable to pass into Turn 1, but he looks to have saved some battery. But Leclerc is more of a threat to Hamilton, and they come within inches of contact!
A 10s penalty to Sainz for clattering Albon. Deserved.
VSC ends and the battle for the final podium step resumes. Two laps remain.
Hamilton is all over Russell and Leclerc is now in their tail too. But the VSC is deployed and spoils the fun.
Significant debris on the track after Sainz locked up at Turn 1 and clattered into team-mate Albon. Another embarrassment in a year of embarrassment for Williams.
Lap 68, and Hamilton is all over Russell, showing his front wing at every opportunity.
A 10s penalty for Colapinto for a yellow flag infringement, as Lawson is now under investigation for the same error.
It looks like the two Williams drivers may have celebrated their new contracts with a coming together.
Hold the phone, Alonso is in ninth place?
"We will invert cars this lap into turn 1." There's the call from Mercedes.
"Is he fighting for the win?" asks Russell.
He follows the instructions but there will be a fallout. No way these places are switched back if Antonelli doesn't catch Norris.
And another reason, Hamilton is right on the second Mercedes now.
Onto lap 64 of 72, and Antonelli is just 1.8s back on Russell. Mercedes may need to make a call here.
Whether Norris wins this or not, he is going to have a significant impact on the title battle, you would have to think.
The gap remains steady between Norris and Antonelli, but Russell is now less than four seconds clear of Antonelli. In two laps, they will be nose-to-tail.
Antonelli has closed in by over a second in a single lap on Russell and Norris. If the softs hold on to the flag, he will be a serious consideration for the win.
Russell is second now, 6.7s behind Norris and 6s ahead of Antonelli, but he will slide backwards.
Russell asks to think of the team if Antonelli is out of the fight, but he's very much in the fight George. He will get you.
Hold the phone, Antonelli has now stopped too.
Norris asks if he should pit, but the VSC ends and he's too late. This could be very interesting in the closing stages.
