Lando Norris made it back-to-back Formula 1 victories at a drama-filled final Dutch Grand Prix, as Max Verstappen suffered a huge crash.

The reigning world champion lost out to Andrea Kimi Antonelli at the start but pulled off a crucial overtake on the Mercedes driver with a great move around the outside of Turn 1 in the second half of the race.

It proved to be a race-winning pass for Norris, who pulled clear of the Mercedes to secure a second consecutive victory for himself and McLaren.

Antonelli was waved through by Mercedes team-mate George Russell in the closing stages to take second after the Italian had given up track position by switching onto soft tyres during a late virtual safety car in an ultimately unsuccessful attempt to take the fight to Norris, while Russell stayed out on old hards.

But Antonelli was no match for Norris, who looked in total control out front as he sealed the win by 11.5 seconds.

Russell was aided by a last virtual safety car as he just held off the hard-charging Ferraris led by Lewis Hamilton to claim the final spot on the podium in third place.

Hamilton was left angry at Ferrari's strategy and called out the team for "wasting time" at mid-distance, having felt team-mate Charles Leclerc should have been moved out of the way sooner given his tyre offset advantage at that stage.

The seven-time world champion capitalised by making his final pit stop under the virtual safety car to ultimately finish ahead of Leclerc in fourth.

Oscar Piastri was a distant sixth in the other McLaren, ahead of Liam Lawson, who finished seventh on his Red Bull return.

Nico Hulkenberg took eighth for Audi, while Fernando Alonso claimed two points in his upgraded Aston Martin ahead of Pierre Gasly, who rounded out the points scorers in 10th.

The result sees Antonelli extend his championship lead back up to 59 points over George Russell and Lewis Hamilton, who are level on points.

Scary final home race for Verstappen

The race got off to a dramatic start after a rain shower in the hour before lights out left the track damp, but not wet enough for the field to start on anything other than slick tyres.

Verstappen suffered a huge crash as his final home F1 race ended in disappointing and scary circumstances at the end of the first lap.

The four-time world champion dropped it on a damp patch and had a huge impact head-on with the concrete wall. Verstappen immediately reported over team radio that he was ok.

Verstappen was lucky not to get collected by the field behind as he spun back onto the track in front of the oncoming traffic.
