What a race!

Carlos Sainz wins the Singapore Grand Prix in a truly spectacular race!

Lando Norris takes second ahead of Lewis Hamilton, after George Russell crashes out on the final lap!

Smooth Operator is amptly sung on Sainz's radio, after arguably his best drive and weekend in F1. The Spaniard drove a perfect and intelligent race to take the chequered flag and become the first non-Red Bull to win in 2023.

Liam Lawson takes his first points while Max Verstappen recovers to P5, just behind Charles Leclerc.

Full finishing order: SAI, NOR, HAM, LEC, VER, GAS, PIA, PER, LAW, MAG, ALB, ZHO, HUL, SAR, ALO.

RUS, BOT, OCO and TSU did not finish.

SAINZ WINS THE SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX!

NORRIS AND HAMILTON COMPLETE THE PODIUM! WHAT A RACE!

14:50
RUSSELL HAS CRASHED!

The Mercedes goes straight on and into the barriers in sector two and he's out!

14:49
Final lap!

The final lap begins as Hamilton asks his teammate to pick up the pace!

14:48
Lap 60

Sainz has dropped back again to help Norris. You cannot take your eyes off this one!

It's still Sainz, Norris, Russell and Hamilton as lap 61 begins.

14:47
The Mercedes are battling!

They're running out of laps here at Singapore as Russell is now under threat from Hamilton!

14:46
Lap 59

Russell looked to have Norris but the McLaren defends well! He's now lost the DRS margin to Sainz, though!

14:45
Sainz radio

"Front tyres are finished" - Sainz

14:44
Lap 58

This is incredible. Sainz has seemingly given Norris DRS on purpose, who has the Mercedes now on his tail!

14:43
DRS for Norris!

Norris is under a second from Sainz!

14:43
Lap 57

Sainz asks for updates on the gap to Norris every lap from now on, as Martin Brundle questions whether the Ferrari driver is aware of the oncoming Mercedes threat.

The top four are covered by four seconds now!

14:40
Russell 3 laps away

The striking distance is quoted as 3 laps for Russell to Norris, who is just a second shy of Sainz now.

14:39
Lap 55

Norris is quietly closing in on Sainz, as the Mercedes are giving it everything but slowing ever so slightly

Verstappen passes Piastri for P7.

14:37
Hamilton now past!

That's one down, three to go for the marching Mercedes!

It's lap 54 of 62 and they're seven seconds off Sainz in the lead!

14:36
Russell overtakes Leclerc!

He's in P3 as Hamilton now closes in!

14:35
Russell closing in

The Brit is in DRS range of Leclerc, with Hamilton just behind!

14:33
Ten laps to go

The Mercedes continue to close in as Hamilton is now even quicker than Russell!

Sainz is comfortable in the lead for now, 1.5s clear of Norris in second. Leclerc will be getting ready to defend Russell in the next lap or two...

14:32
Verstappen gets Lawson

Max is up to P8 after overtaking Lawson, who didn't make it easy for the Championship leader.

The Kiwi is now in P9, once again staking a claim for a full-time F1 seat.

14:30
Russell in Leclerc's mirrors

Russell is now 5 seconds behind Leclerc, taking 8 seconds off the Ferrari in the past 4 laps.

His teammate is following suit. The front-runners on 30-lap-old tyres will be hoping all that management will pay off!

14:28
Lap 48

The order is changing all the time, but as it stands, the top 10 is: SAI, NOR, LEC, RUS, HAM, GAS, PIA, LAW, HUL, VER.

Verstappen is constantly making up places on fresh tyres, but is probably still too far back to threaten the leaders.

Russell and Hamilton however are still insanely fast, and this could really be a Mercedes 1-2...

14:26
Alonso goes off the track

Alonso momentarily went straight on at the corner, but has turned it around and got back racing.

14:25
We have a race on our hands...

It's lap 47 of 62, and Russell and Hamilton are two seconds a lap quicker than the leaders!

14:24
Green flag!

Some catching up to do for Russell and Hamilton, who are around 14 seconds off the top 3 of Sainz, Norris and Leclerc.

It seems Leclerc wanted to come in but has been told to stay out.

A nightmare for Alonso who came in during the VSC for fresh tyres, but a 25 second stop has put him down in P15.

14:22
Russell and Hamilton in the pits!

They're double stacking for fresh mediums and they've nailed it! They come out in P4 and P5 in an abundance of clear air!
