Williams Fw20 Launched.
The Williams FW20, the car that will challenge for the 1998 FIA Formula One World Championship, was unveiled today (28/1/98) at Silverstone Circuit, UK by their two drivers 1997 F1 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve and 1997 runner-up Heinz-Harald Frentzen.
Nakano To Join Minardi?
The Japanese F1 driver Shinji Nakano who drove for the Prost Mugen-Honda team last year may be in line for a seat at Minardi.
Damon Hill's First Jordan Test.
Damon Hill eventually got his hands on the new Jordan Mugen-Honda 198 at Barcelona this week, Damon first drove the car for a handful of laps late on Tuesday (20/1/98) afternoon.
Barcelona F1 Testing - Williams.
This week the Winfield Williams team have been testing at the Barcelona circuit along with several other teams, both drivers have been present Frentzen and current World Champion Jacues Villeneuve.
Benetton's First Test On Bridgestone.
The Mild Seven Benetton Formula One team were also present at Barcelona with Alex Wurz and Giancarlo Fisichella.
Mansell Banned For Six Months.
The 1992 FIA Formula One World Champion, Nigel Mansell has today (22/1/98) been banned from driving on the road for a total of six months due to a speeding offence.
Barcelona F1 Testing - Prost.
The Prost AP01 which was unveiled on Tuesday at the Spanish track was already into it's first intensive test session immediately after the launch.
New Sauber C17 F1 Car Launched.
The new Sauber Petronas C17 was today launched at the Vienna Opera House, the team will initially test next week at Fiorano in Italy home to Ferrari as they use their V10 engines but re-badged as Sauber Petronas engines.

New Tyrrell 026 Breaks Cover.
The new Tyrrell 026 Formula One car for the 1998 F1 season was unveiled today at Terence Conran's Bluebird Restaurant in London (21/1/98).
New Mugen-honda Engine.
The Mugen-Honda engine for 1998, the MF301HC which Mugen hope will enable Jordan Grand Prix to challenge for outright victories was unveiled at the Royal Albert Hall in London at the same time as the new Jordan F1 car.

The Jordan Mugen-Honda 198, Jordan's 1998 Formula One challenger was launched today (19/1/98) at the Royal Albert Hall in London with great pomp and ceremony.
Shakedown For Jordan Mugen-honda 198.
Ralf Schumacher carried out the initial shakedown test of the new for 1998 Jordan Mugen-Honda 198 at Silverstone on Friday 16/1/98, the team will unveil the car at the Royal Albert Hall on Monday 19/1/98.
Yamaha To Quit?
It is understood that Japanese engine manufacturer Yamaha is set to quit Formula One due to a dispute with Tom Walkinshaw's TWR Arrows outfit based in Leafield Oxfordshire, UK.

The Mild Seven Benetton team launched its challenge for the 1998 FIA Formula One World Championship today (15/1/98) in London at the London Television Centre.
Schuey Hits Trouble In New Ferrari F300.
While his team mate Eddie Irvine was conducting tests at Jerez in Southern Spain with the interim 1997/98 Ferrari F1, Michael Schumacher was at the team's test track at Fiorano Italy testing the new Ferrari F300 F1 car and experiencing problems.
Bridgestone To Benetton - Shock!

Portuguese Grand Prix - Off!
It now looks certain that the 1998 Portuguese Grand Prix to have been held at Estoril near Lisbon will now be cancelled due to the fact that the circuit alterations to have been completed by March 31st 1998 will not be completed in time.
Williams Unveil New Winfield Livery.
Today the Williams Grand Prix team unveiled their new for 1998 Winfield livery at the Pinewood film studios outside London. The livery was shown for the first time on an FW19 chassis which is the old 1997 car, the new 1998 car the FW20 will not be launched until the last week of January.

The new Ferrari F300 - F1 Challenger for the 1998 FIA F1 World Championship was unveiled today at Maranello, the home of Ferrari in Italy.
Sauber Management Changes For 1998.
Team Red Bull Sauber Petronas will enter the 1998 FIA Formula One World Championship season with a revised management structure. Team Principal Peter Sauber will resume responsibility for the team's operations with immediate effect.
Villeneuve Concussed In Ski Accident.
The 1997 FIA Formula One World Champion Jacques Villeneuve was flown to hospital from the Praloup resort in France after sustaining concussion in a ski accident just prior to the New Year. He was detained for several hours as he was still feeling the effects of the accident.
Tuero Signs For Minardi
The Argentine teenager Esteban Tuero will race for the Italian Minardi Formula One team next year. Tuero who competed in Japan and F3000 last season, impressed the Minardi team during a series of pre-Christmas F1 tests in Italy.
