Getting out the car, Palou celebrated his result with the team and said: "Ever since I started with CGR, we've had great cars, but I would say we've always struggled qualifying up front, so this year it's been phenomenal.
“The speed we have in the cars, in every single race track we show up, it's been amazing.”
Alex Palou takes pole for the Indy 200 Mid-Ohio race with a 1:05.021. Christian Lundgaard takes second with a 1:05.212 while Kyffin Simpson takes third for his best qualifying result ever.
Palou sets a 1:05.208 lap time which is over seven tenths faster than second place Simpson.
Louis Foster sets 1:06.239 in what looks to be his final lap.
Nolan Siegel sets fastest lap with a 1:07.370.
Simpson, Palou, and Herta are the only drivers on hards while the rest are on softs.

Kyle Kirkwood has been eliminated by Kyffin Simpson who pips the Andretti driver to go through to the top six.
Christian Lundgaard has reported a car issue in his Arrow McLaren and has abandoned his lap to not cause more damage.
Kyle Kirkwood currently sits on top of round two with a time of 1:05.914.
Louis Foster was lucky not to lose the car after getting tyres off track which created a giant twitch. He continued that lap and went fastest.
Track is green for round two of qualifying which will determine the top six drivers who will go into the final session.

Alex Palou topped Q1 group two with a 1:05.2043 while Will Power finished 11th overall and is a eliminated with Josef Newgarden also.
Power confronted Palou before the race and swore at the driver multiple times after practice two.
Alongside Palou, Louis Foster, Scott Dixon, Kyle Kirkwood, Marcus Armstrong, and Alexander Rossi qualified for the next round.
Palou sets fastest time with 50 seconds to go.
All the drivers have returned to the track to put in their final times. Kirkwood needs to put a better time in to qualify for the next session.
Felix Rosenqvist takes over the top of the table in his Ozzy Osbourne/Black Sabbath livery car with a 1:05.846.
Kyle Kirkwood leads group two so far with a time of 1:09.229. He is the only other driver bar Palou to win a race this year.
