Toyota's #8 crew of Brendon Hartley, Kazuki Nakajima and Sebastien Buemi dominated Sunday's 6 Hours of Fuji to open their account for the 2019-20 FIA World Endurance Championship season despite a penalty threatening to derail their bid.

Toyota Gazoo Racing locked out the front row of the grid for Sunday's 6 Hours of Fuji as Brendon Hartley and Kazuki Nakajima teamed up to score pole position in the #8 car.

Kazuki Nakajima kept Toyota Gazoo Racing at the head of the timesheets in second practice for the FIA WEC 6 Hours of Fuji on Friday afternoon, finishing over a second clear of the non-hybrid LMP1 runners.

Toyota Gazoo Racing swept to a dominant one-two finish in Sunday’s 6 Hours of Fuji as Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi and Jose Maria Lopez claimed their first FIA World Endurance Championship victory as a trio.

Fernando Alonso, Sebastien Buemi and Kazuki Nakajima will start Sunday’s FIA World Endurance Championship round at Fuji from pole position after the sister Toyota crew’s qualifying time was deleted by the stewards following the session.

Sebastien Buemi set the pace for Toyota in opening practice for this weekend’s FIA World Endurance Championship round at Fuji Speedway, finishing almost half a second clear of co-driver Fernando Alonso on Friday.

CEFC TRSM Racing has withdrawn its single Ginetta LMP1 entry from next month’s FIA World Endurance Championship round at Fuji Speedway.

CEFC TRSM Racing is set to make its return to the FIA World Endurance Championship after the #6 Ginetta G60-LT-P1 was featured on the provisional entry list for the upcoming 6 Hours of Fuji.

The FIA World Endurance Championship has confirmed that the 6 Hours of Fuji will be brought forward by one week in order to allow two-time Formula 1 world champion Fernando Alonso to take part in the race.
