Pol Espargaro says high lean 'slide control' function should be added to MotoGP's unified electronics to avoid the kind of huge highside he suffered at Valencia.
Alex Rins' crew chief Jose Manuel Cazeaux explains why the biggest contribution made by MotoGP electronics is no longer in the areas of traction control or anti-wheelie but in understanding what is happening inside the bike.
Since MotoGP winter testing, Valentino Rossi has repeatedly emphasised the need for Yamaha to improve acceleration via the electronics. "All the Ducatis are better in acceleration, because they are more in front compared to us in the electronics," the Italian said in February.
"What we are doing at the moment is a very basic strategy that gives riders the opportunity to select a different map [on the handlebar]" - Corrado Cecchinelli, MotoGP Director of Technology.
"From the end of June the electronic engineers should have no secrets... Whatever is requested by one MotoGP manufacturer, will be available to everyone"
