2025 24 Hours of Le Mans as it happened

Live updates from the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans

The 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans begins at 4pm CET on Saturday 14 June.

The showpiece event of the entire endurance racing year, the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans is the 93rd edition of the iconic event held at the Circuit de la Sarthe in mid-June.

Cadillac will be chasing an historic first victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, after it locked out the front row for a maiden pole earlier this week in Hyperpole.

The Jota-run Cadillac's of the No.12 and No.38 cars will lead the field at the start of the race on Saturday and could become the first American manufacturer to win outright at Le Mans since Ford in 1969.

Cadillac - who has four cars on the grid in Hypercar - will face stiff opposition, however, with six manufacturers expected to be in the mix for victory over the next 24 hours.

Last year's winners Ferrari struggled in qualifying, with the 2024 victor No.50 car only seventh, while the No.51 car and the No.83 AF Corse entry 11th and 13th on the grid.

Porsche will be aiming for a 20th victory at Le Mans and the first for Roger Penske, with the Penske Motorsport-run 963s starting from third, fifth and last in class. The No.6 entry was disqualified from Wednesday's qualifying results due to a weight limit infringement.

Toyota goes for a sixth victory at Le Mans on the 40th anniversary of its first visit to the French enduro, though it will do so from far down the grid, in 10th and 16th.

Other marques looking to push themselves into victory contention are BMW and Alpine, while returning Aston Martin and the Peugeot entries look set for a tough race.

Three classes will be on track, with the LMP2 field led off the line by the No.29 TDS Racing entry, while LMGT3 is headed by the No.27 Heart of Racing Aston Martin.

The race runs from 4pm CET Saturday 14 June to 4pm CET on Sunday 15 June, and is a double points round in the World Endurance Championship.

87 laps have been completed at the front of the field. The No.83 of Yifei Ye leads by 13.7s from the No.6 Porsche of Matt Campbell, while the No.50 - after a recent stop - is 58.7s behind in third.

Once we get some more stops, that will be a lead for the No.50 barring any issues.

20:18

The No.5 car will see no further action for an earlier incident we didn't see.

20:18

The No.7 Toyota is having the team manager called to the stewards for the pitlane speeding investigation.

20:17

The No.50 Ferrari has been in for fuel now, too, release the No.83 into the lead.

20:15

The No.43 Inter Europol went into the wrong pitbox and needed to be pushed back, so that's a big deal as that car has led LMP2 for so long.

20:15

The No.6 Porsche is up to third but just doesn't seem able at this stage to do anything pace-wise to trouble the Ferraris.

20:14

The No.5 Porsche is in, as is the No.99 Proton Porsche.

20:13

Appears to be just fuel for the No.51. It's away again. Drive remains.

20:12

The No.51 Ferrari is in from second.

20:10

Pit stops for the No.7 Toyota and the No. 20 BMW.

20:10

No change in the lead with that gap for the No.50 standing at 12 seconds. But the No.83 AF Corse car in third is about five seconds back from the No.51.

20:08

An incident between the No.5 Porsche and the No. 150 AF Corse Ferrari is being investigated. We haven't seen what that was, but nothing seems to be going right for that car after its first hour in the lead.

20:03

The leading LMP2 No.43 Inter Europol car has come in and the No.48 VDS Panis Racing car leads in class.

20:02

Rossi comes in from the lead of LMGT3 in the No.46 WRT BMW, releasing the No.92 Manthey Porsche to the front of the field.

2025 24 Hours of Le Mans - Hour 6

We're into hour six at Le Mans and it's a Ferrari 1-2-3 in the Hypercar class, with the No.50 of Miguel Molina leading by 12s from the No.51 of Alessandro Pier Guidi.

20:00

But the energy difference between the No.83 and the two leaders is an interesting element in this battle.

20:00

Small correction: all Ferraris took new tyres at the stops.

19:58

Interesting look at the energy graphics. The No.83 in third has about 15-20% more than the leading factory Ferrari cars, and is on fresher tyres.

19:57

The sun is really starting to get low, so visibility is going to become an issue for drivers now.

19:56

At the back of the Hypercar pack, the No.007 Aston Martin is last with Ross Gunn at the wheel. The No.93 Peugeot that Paul di Resta shunted in the first hour is ninth with Mikkel Jensen at the wheel.

The top Aston is currently the No.009 of Roman de Angelis in 17th.

19:55

The No12 Jota Cadillac has come in from fourth. Taking fuel and four new tyres.

19:53

The leading Ferraris didn't take new tyres at the recent stop it seems, while the No.83 did. So, let's see how that develops over the next few hours.

19:52

The No.50 Ferrari of Molina is 11.6s clear of team-mate Alessando Pier Guidi in the No.51, while the No.83 AF Corse of Yifei Ye is a further 10s behind.

The No.12 polesitting Jota Cadillac of Alex Lynn is fourth, while Rafelle Marciello leads the BMW charge in fifth ahead of the No.6 Porsche of Matt Campbell.

Toyota is running seventh with the No.8 driven by Ryo Hirakawa. The No.20 BMW of Sheldon van der Linde is eighth, the No.38 Jota Cadillac is ninth and the No.4 Porsche completes the top 10.

19:47

The No.94 Peugeot comes in for a stop, so it's a Ferrari 1-2-3 again with No.50 leading No.51 and the No.83.

19:44

After all the pitstops in LMGT3, Valentino Rossi leads the class for WRT BMW. He's 13s clear of the No.92 Manthey Porsche.
