2025 24 Hours of Le Mans as it happened

Live updates from the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans

The 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans begins at 4pm CET on Saturday 14 June.

The showpiece event of the entire endurance racing year, the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans is the 93rd edition of the iconic event held at the Circuit de la Sarthe in mid-June.

Cadillac will be chasing an historic first victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, after it locked out the front row for a maiden pole earlier this week in Hyperpole.

The Jota-run Cadillac's of the No.12 and No.38 cars will lead the field at the start of the race on Saturday and could become the first American manufacturer to win outright at Le Mans since Ford in 1969.

Cadillac - who has four cars on the grid in Hypercar - will face stiff opposition, however, with six manufacturers expected to be in the mix for victory over the next 24 hours.

Last year's winners Ferrari struggled in qualifying, with the 2024 victor No.50 car only seventh, while the No.51 car and the No.83 AF Corse entry 11th and 13th on the grid.

Porsche will be aiming for a 20th victory at Le Mans and the first for Roger Penske, with the Penske Motorsport-run 963s starting from third, fifth and last in class. The No.6 entry was disqualified from Wednesday's qualifying results due to a weight limit infringement.

Toyota goes for a sixth victory at Le Mans on the 40th anniversary of its first visit to the French enduro, though it will do so from far down the grid, in 10th and 16th.

Other marques looking to push themselves into victory contention are BMW and Alpine, while returning Aston Martin and the Peugeot entries look set for a tough race.

Three classes will be on track, with the LMP2 field led off the line by the No.29 TDS Racing entry, while LMGT3 is headed by the No.27 Heart of Racing Aston Martin.

The race runs from 4pm CET Saturday 14 June to 4pm CET on Sunday 15 June, and is a double points round in the World Endurance Championship.

18:05

The lead isn't massive at the moment. The No.50 Ferrari is only 2.8s clear of the No.6 Porsche.

18:05

Great pass from the No.83 AF Corse Ferrari of Kubica, who has taken sixth from the No.311 Cadillac of Drugovich into Indianapolis by the looks of it.

18:03

The No.43 Inter Europol car is reporting an issue with the gearbox. That's the leader of LMP2!

18:02

The No.6 Porsche has come in, so the No.50 Ferrari of Antonio Fuoco leads again.

Hour 4

And just like that, we're into Hour 4 of the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans!

The No.6 Porsche leads following the most recent round of stops. The No.50 Ferrari was leading and is the top car that has pitted in third.

In LMP2, it's still the No.43 Inter Europol car leading, while LMGT3 is continuing to be topped by the No.46 WRT BMW.

17:59

Robert Kubica is flying along in the No.83 AF Corse Ferrari in second. No.6 Porsche still leads by 18.8s.

17:54

New tyres going on that No.5 Porsche.

17:54

The No.51 Ferrari of Giovinazzi has come in, as has the No.5 Porsche.

17:53

The No.311 Cadillac is in for fuel, so still no new tyres yet.

17:53

The No.25 Algarve Pro Racing LMP2 car has been given a five-second penalty for its next stop for corner cutting. It's currently fifth in class.

17:51

Worth noting that the No.51 Ferrari is on fresh tyres. That No.311 Cadillac is on four-stint-old rubber.

17:50

The No.6 Porsche has gone into the lead with the Ferrari in the pits.

17:49

The No.50 Ferrari has come into the pits.

17:48

The No.51 Ferrari has passed the No.311 Cadillac for fourth. That car is really on a march right now.

17:47

Not going the way of the No.7 Toyota, which has had an off-track excursion after a big lock-up at Mulsanne corner.

To rejoin, you have to take the roundabout to get back on. That car is 12th with Kamui Kobayashi behind the wheel.

17:46

Stops in LMP2 have put the No.43 Inter Europol car into the lead in class.

17:45

The No.12 Jota Cadillac is in for fuel and a change of drive to Alex Lynn - the poleman.

17:45

Looking back to LMGT3, the No.10 Aston that was second has just pitted. So, the No.78 Akkodis Lexus is up to second, while the No.46 WRT BMW leads by 16s.

17:43

That has allowed the No.50 Ferrari's lead to open up to five seconds on this 46th lap.

17:42

The No.6 has gone through to second after the No.5 got boxed in by traffic through Porsche Curves. So Vanthoor is up to second - from 21st of the grid!

17:41

Jaminet is saying he "cannot brake and cannot steer. The rear is all over the place, the rear is locking". So, that explains the No.5 Porsche's problems right now.

Remember, that car is on the tyres it strated with still.

17:40

The interesting battle at this stage now is that for second, with the No.5 Porsche under pressure from the No.6 Porsche.

17:39

The sun is just starting poke out from the clouds for the first time today. Which is probably not ideal, as that will start causing visibility issues for the drivers.

At least it will look absolutely mega for us!

17:38

This lead battle in Hypercar has detracted us from what's been happening elsewhere.

The No.16 RLR M Sport car is leading LMP2 by a massive 21.255s, with Inter Europol second in class.

In LMGT3, the No.46 WRT BMW with Ahmad Al Harthy behind the wheel is leading by 11.7s from the Racing Spirit of Le Mans Aston Martin of Derek Deboer.

17:35

That battle has allowed the No.6 Porsche of Laurens Vanthoor to close right in on the leaders. He too is not on new tyres and his pace is looking good. So, this is till looking very encouraging for Porsche right now.
