The lead is coming down. The No.5 Porsche is only 1.2s clear of the No.50 Ferrari now.
The No.8 Toyota got past some traffic three-wide on the run through Maison Blanche but got through. But the Ferrari behind has been able to pull a move off for fifth.
Giovinazzi is fighting the No.8 Toyota now of Brendon Hartley.
Top Cadillac is fourth at the moment, which is the No.311 Whelen entry being driven by Felipe Drugovich right now. That car is 17s off the lead on lap 41.
Giovinazzi told he's gained some time to the leader in this stint, 20s behind the No.5 Porsche. The No.51 came from 11th on the grid, so that car is running very well right now.
The No.20 BMW of Robin Frijns is piling the pressure on the No.12 Jota Cadillac for ninth around the second half of the lap. Not really going Jota's way right now after the triumph of Hyperpole.
Quite a few drivers from rival marques were expecting Cadillac's Hyperpole pace to carry over. Of course, long way to go.
Antonio Giovinazzi has passed the No.15 BMW of Dries Vanthoor for sixth. The Ferraris are looking a bit quicker at this stage of the race now, though the lead gap between the No.5 Porsche and the No.50 Ferrari is still over three seconds.

“Really pleased. We managed to have a clean start, which was the main thing. We were able to move forward, so we’re in the mix. There’s not much more to do right now but to keep trying to dial in the car as we go because we can improve it in a few places. But it feels pretty good right now.”
The No.5 Porsche is back in the lead as the No.94 Peugeot comes into the pits.
The lead for Jaminet is 3s over the No.50 Ferrari of Antonio Fuoco.
The No.38 is being told the No.12 will swap positions with him. Earl Bamber sounded irate about trying to get that pass done. The No.12 is up to ninth.
The No.12 had a scary moment trying to get past cars into the Michelin chicane. It avoided one of the BMWs and was narrowly avoided by the No.51 Ferrari.
The No.83 car has pitted, so the No.94 Peugeot has taken over the lead.
So the No.83 AF Corse car with Phil Hanson at the wheel leads after all those stops, but the No.5 Porsche is in third - so is effectively the leader once the two cars ahead stop.
No.6 is coming in from the lead.
