2025 Czech MotoGP LIVE UPDATES

Live coverage of the 2025 Czech MotoGP race from Brno.

Lap 6/21

Bezzecchi continues to lead Marquez, Acosta still there. Question for Bezzecchi is durability on the tyre because he's only done six consecutive laps on a medium rear in practice.

Further back, Bastianini has passed Bagnaia for fourth. Podium ahead of him now in the shape of Acosta.

13:12
Lap 5/21

Bezzecchi ran wide at turn three that lap but he continues to hold the lead, PB for Marquez that time, though.

Leaders are all in the low-1:54s, Bagnaia dropping off in the mid-54s.

13:10
Lap 4/21

Still Bezzecchi who leads from Marquez, Acosta, Bagnaia who is dropping off the back of the factory KTM and will have problems with Bastianini shortly.

13:09

And Quartararo back to seventh now, Fernandez through at turn five.

13:09

And Bastianini makes his move at turn four.

13:09
Lap 3/21

Bezzecchi continues to lead from Marquez. Half-a-second back then to Bagnaia.

Bastianini charging already, pressuring Quartararo for fifth and with the podium in sight.

13:07

Acosta past Bagnaia for third at turn three. Not a good start for Bagnaia.

Bezzecchi still leading.

13:07
Alex Marquez, Joan Mir OUT

Alex Marquez tries a move at turn 12 on Joan Mir but he loses the front and Mir crashes too with contact. Super-unfortunate for Mir.

13:05

Marquez past Bagnaia for second at turn three.

13:05
Lap 1/21

Bagnaia wide at the penultimate corner but he leads the opening lap. Bezzecchi makes the move at turn one, though, and he leads beginning lap two.

13:04

Marquez attacks Bagnaia at turns three and four but Bagnaia back in front at turn five, Bezzecchi through on the Spaniard, too.

13:03
Race start

It's lights out in Czechia and it's a holeshot for Bagnaia who nails the start. Marquez second, then Quartararo and Bezzecchi.

13:00
Warm-up lap

Riders are off on their warm-up lap ahead of the Czech Grand Prix.

12:58
Tyre changes

Two late tyre changes.

Raul Fernandez has switched to the medium rear.

Johann Zarco has switched to the soft rear.

12:57
Jorge Martin

Jorge Martin starts only his second grand prix of the season today from 12th on the grid.

He will be aiming for his first finish, too, having crashed out in Qatar back in April, a crash which kept him off the bike for three months.

12:56
Alex Marquez

P8 on the grid and P17 at the finish probably didn't reflect Alex Marquez's true potential yesterday, but he got away with it somewhat with Bagnaia finishing only seventh.

He still has a 61-point lead over Bagnaia coming into this race. Finishing off the podium here would make this the first event of the season that Marquez hasn't finished on the podium in either race.

12:53
Marc Marquez

Marc Marquez's championship lead was extended to 95 points in yesterday's Sprint thanks to his win and Alex Marquez's DNF.

If he wins today, he will have at least 100 points in hand going into the summer break, which even in the days of Sprints means he could sit out three rounds and come back no more than 11 points out of the points lead.

A win in Brno this afternoon would also make him the first Ducati rider to win five races in a row.

12:49
Francesco Bagnaia on pole

It's Francesco Bagnaia on pole this afternoon for the first time on a Sunday this year.

Obviously, he slumped to seventh yesterday but that wasn't about his pace, rather an unfortunate error with his GP25's tyre pressure monitoring system.

A victory today seems unlikely given the pace of Marc Marquez, but a podium on-merit would be a decent way for the two-time premier class champion to enter the summer break after a tough first half of the season.

12:43
Conditions

Hottest conditions of the weekend today in Brno with 27C air temperature and 41C track temperature.

12:42
Tyres

Early tyre choices at the moment are everyone on medium-compound front, medium-compound rear.

Apart from Raul Fernandez who is currently with the hard-compound rear tyre, this being one of the few races where there is a hard option at the rear, with the new surface at Brno for this year seeing Michelin bring three compounds to the Czech GP.

12:37
Sighting lap

Riders are heading to the grid on their sighting lap with just over 20 minutes to go until race start in Brno.
