We're hearing that Raul Fernandez is now going out with the new Aprilia rear aero mentioned below.
Pramac duo Jack Miller and Toprak Razgatlioglu leave the pits to resume testing in Session 2.
That's good news for Yamaha and especially WorldSBK champion Razgatlioglu, who needs all the testing laps he can get.
Here is a close-up look at yet another new version of Aprilia rear aero, underlining what a battleground it has become.
This one takes the 'stegosaurus' vanes and turns them into more of a 'porcupine'...
Here are some of the Sprint simulations by the factory Ducati Lenovo riders. It's close!
Marquez had the better outright lap, but Bagnaia had the edge in terms of average lap time (including more 1m 57s)...
Marc Marquez:
1'57.602
1'57.681
1'58.154
1'58.118
1'58.320
1'58.411

No Yamaha riders have been on track so far this afternoon. Could the test be over for the V4 M1s? Alex Rins is due to speak to the media at 3:40pm.
Here are factory KTM riders Pedro Acosta and Brad Binder riding with 'leg wings' mounted to the seat unit of their RC16s, as already used by Aprilia and Honda.
Acosta has also been trying a slimmer top for the front fairing: "Normally the KTM ones were always was quite big compared to the other brands. For example, the Aprilia one is super small. For this we have to try everything and it looks like it's working."

A few minutes after 3pm and it's now a Marquez one-two, with Alex replacing Marc at the top by 0.307s.
Pedro Acosta is the top non-Ducati, in fourth for KTM.
Upon Yamaha's return to testing action on Thursday, Toprak Razgatlioglu was seen riding with and without the rear aero in his Pramac Yamaha.
The reigning WorldSBK champion's height and preferred bike set-up have caused issues with meeting the height limit when using the rear aero.

Marc Marquez puts his factory Ducati 0.124s ahead of team-mate Francesco Bagnaia to lead the Session 2 timesheets.
We're now 15mins away from 3pm local time, which is the Sprint and Grand Prix start time. If you're going to do a race simulation, that is the time to do it.
Marc Marquez is up to 4th on the timesheets, then pits.
Pedro Acosta joins Moreira and Johann Zarco on track.
Marc Marquez joins the Session 2 action. Rookie Diogo Moreira is not too far behind him on track, might he grab the chance to try and learn a few tips from the reigning champion?
Bagnaia is now alone on track, he's reduced his best time to a 1m 57.726s.
That might not sound impressive given the 1m 56s this morning, but the best time in Session 2 yesterday - when riders were denied late time attacks due to rain - was a 1m 58.094s by Alex Marquez.
Bagnaia's Session 2 best had been a 1m 59.402s. He is currently 0.420s ahead of Diggia.
Francesco Bagnaia slots into P1 with a 1m 58.088s, just 0.058s ahead of Fabio di Giannantonio's GP26.
Fabio di Giannantonio is the fastest in Session 2 so far on a 1m 58.146s, well below the mid 1m 56s of this morning, showing that riders are now either on old softs or the unfavoured medium tyres.
Well, that's a no on the race simulations - for now at least - with di Giannantonio, Mir, Vinales and Moreira back in the pits.
Luca Marini heads out.
Fabio di Giannantonio, Joan Mir and rookie Diogo Moreira join Vinales on track. Let's see if any of them are doing a Sprint/race simulation.
Tech3 KTM's Maverick Vinales is the first rider on track in Session 2.
Session 2, the last of the 2026 Sepang test, has begun and runs until 6pm.
Over the previous days, there was a lull in track action at the start of Session 2 as teams and riders took a long lunch and saved their soft tyres.
But with yesterday afternoon's rain shower cutting short the dry running, and some riders planning Sprint/race simulations for today, let's see if the action restarts sooner.
We're hearing that the Yamaha riders did not appear to take part in the post-Session 1 practice start period. If so, it further underlines that they are taking extra care with the engines today.
