The scale of Yamaha's task today

Alex Rins said: "It was a busy weekend for Yamaha’s test rider Cal.

"He has been to Montmelo and Mugello to test many things, which we will test on Monday.

"I am excited, there are many pieces. More pieces than time available!

"We are focused to have a balanced bike to test well.

"After this, we have many items - one of them is the aerodynamics, we also have a chassis to try."

Is it true Yamaha will use a brand-new bike today?

"If we want, we can get a totally new bike," Fabio Quartararo explains.

"We can build it. But there is no meaning to it.

"If we make it, we don’t know what works. We have to test item by item. We will not do it."

Quartararo added about today's plan: "It is really important, we have many things to try.

"Two more on Monday’s test. Hopefully we can make a small step.

"I don’t expect anything really big this weekend. But, every time, we have more ideas."

Maverick Vinales said about today's test: "I’m not looking forward to it! Because I have a good feeling with my bike.

"But obviously the factory will bring new stuff. We need to try to develop.

"I feel really good but I clearly understand that the championship is also challenging for the factory to keep improving.

"We are focused to make another step, which we will need for the future."

Gigi Dall'Igna's plan for today's test

Ducati boss Gigi Dall'Igna wants to tackle the chatter problem today.

“We worked during the weekend and we worked for tomorrow and the vibration problem," he said.

“Even if we didn’t have problems here in Jerez, we have something in mind and we would like to test all the new parts.”

Dall’Igna was also asked about the riders aboard 2023 machines, which includes Marc Marquez and whether they will receive any updates.

The Italian added: “Not really updates but they also had problems with vibration so I would like to work with them about it.”

What is Marc Marquez testing today?

Crew chief Frankie Carchedi said: "With the weekend format it’s difficult to try many items.

"We made a big step in Austin which worked here. This test is important to not only try new parts but also improve what we have as still a lot of details to improve.

"Afraid i can’t disclose on 'parts' but Marc will have 2 bikes for the test..."

Marc Marquez said: "Honestly, I don’t know. I have tests to try for my riding style.

"Rear brake, front brake we will concentrate on to understand, because during the GPs it is difficult. I am focused on myself and my bike."
