After his win last time out at Jerez, Valentino Rossi has moved into 5th place on the all-time premier class win list, having taken one victory more than 1993 World Champion Kevin Schwantz.
Potentially, Rossi could overtake another American, Eddie Lawson, for fourth this season if he can win another six races. Third placed Mike Hailwood would then also be within reach of the 24-year-old Italian.
