Stoner: I can't wait to race at Mugello
Despite winning 25 MotoGP races since its 2003 debut, Ducati has never won its home Italian Grand Prix at Mugello. Instead, the home factory has had to settle for three second places and one third, out of six visits to a race won by Valentino Rossi ever since 2002.

125: Haojue out of Italian GP.
125GP's newest manufacturer, Haojue, has withdrawn from this weekend's Italian Grand Prix at Mugello 'in order to concentrate on addressing the problems affecting the engine performance' of its machine.

MotoGP tyre rules changed.
The MotoGP tyre rules are to be tweaked, following an announcement from the Grand Prix Commission that the number of hard and soft front tyres will no longer need to be the same from June 24 onwards.

Gibernau targets Catalunya return
Sete Gibernau has targeted a return to action for the Catalunya Grand Prix after undergoing surgery to secure a transversal displaced fracture to the middle of his left collarbone.

Mika Kallio's attempt to overtake factory Ducati rider Nicky Hayden - or 'a much slower rider' as Pramac Ducati technical director Fabiano Sterlacchini called him - ended in disaster when the MotoGP rookie hit a wet patch and fell, forcing Hayden off track in the process.

Marco Melandri's 2009 rebirth reached a new high at Le Mans on Sunday, when the Italian took his 'privateer' Kawasaki to second place in a dramatic wet/dry French Grand Prix.

125: Marquez take pole at Le Mans.
Marc Marquez has taken pole position for the 125cc French Grand Prix at Le Mans. The 40-minute session took place on a wet - but steadily drying - track, prompting countless spills as riders tested the ever-changing grip levels.

Gibernau injured in Le Mans practice.
Sete Gibernau has been ruled out of the remainder of the French Grand Prix weekend after sustaining a suspected double fracture of his left collarbone during a Saturday morning free practice highside at Le Mans.

Bridgestone to mark soft tyres.
Bridgestone officially introduced sidewall markings for its softer compound slick tyres during Friday free practice at Le Mans, after testing possible solutions during the previous Spanish Grand Prix.

250: Talmacsi out of Aspar.
2007 125cc world champion Gabor Talmacsi has split from the Aspar Aprilia team after just three rounds of this year's 250cc World Championship.

Takahashi looking forward to Le Mans.
Yuki Takahashi believes one of his strongest points as a rider is dealing with slow hairpin corners, a feature of Le Mans - venue for this weekend's French Grand Prix.
