2025 UK WorldSBK: Friday Practice As It Happened

Live coverage of the Friday practice sessions from the 2025 UK WorldSBK.

The seventh round of the 2025 World Superbike Championship takes place at Donington Park, host of the 2025 UK WorldSBK.

Nicolo Bulega enters the weekend with a nine-point lead over Toprak Razgatlioglu.

FP1 is set to get underway FP2 at 15:00 local time.

Alex Lowes was fastest in FP1, 0.001 seconds ahead of Bulega. Razgatlioglu was third and 0.048 seconds off the pace of Lowes.

Bulega tops FP2

The chequered flag is out at Donington and Nicolo Bulega ends fastest by 0.181s over Petrucci. Sam Lowes completes the top-three.

Razgatlioglu takes fourth, ahead of Garrett Gerloff who improved late on to take a top-five spot.

Alex Lowes P6, ahead of Redding, Vickers, Locatelli, and Aegerter who complete the top-10.

Bautista better than this mornig but struggling still in 11th. Rea, too, struggling - down in 17th.

Looks like Razgatlioglu has had that latest lap scrubbed - he's back to 0.279s behind Bulega.

Alex Lowes has move dup to fith, and Redding up to sixth.

Vickers, who impressed this morning, is seventh, and Locatelli the top Yamaha in eighth.

Razgatlioglu improves by 0.010s on his next lap, but Petrucci has moved up to second on a 1:26.523, so the Turkish rider is back down to fourth again.

Another PB from Razgatlioglu and he moves back to third in the session, 0.279s behind Bulega who is 0.249s ahead of Lowes.

That lap has been cancelled for Razgatlioglu, TV replays showing he cut the inside kerb at the first part of the chicane.

Sam Lowes has improved, too, to second, meaning Razgatlioglu is now back to fourth.

Razgatlioglu with a bit of a push on his latest lap, a bit of a moment through the chicane but he moves up to second, 0.090s behind Bulega now - and he did it while taking a tow from Bautista who is up to sixth, 0.597s behind his teammate.

Lecuona runs on at the Melbourne Hairpin and sits up with some apparent resignation. P15, whcih is at least better than the P21, now, of teammate Vierge.

Andrea Locatelli in P4 represents something a bit more positive for Yamaha this afternoon, after they had no bikes in the top-10 this morning.

A 1:26.903 from the Italian is an improvement of over half-a-second versus his 1:27.423 from this morning.

Moment for Lecuona a he runs on at the final corner. He's P18 at the moment, the struggles continuing for Honda.

Similarly, Vierge down in P22, 2.005s off the top.

Razgatlioglu has had a lap cancelled and he's back to third-fastest now, 0.415s behind Bulega.

A slightly better afternoon for Bautista compared to this morning: P9 at the moment, albeit still 0.804s behind Bulega who remains fastest for now.

Razgatlioglu, meanwhile, has moved up to second, but is still 0.289s behind Bulega.

Just under 10 minutes to go until FP2 starts and we have 30C air temperature and 45C track temperature.

It was also a tough morning for both Honda and Yamaha.

Jonathan Rea was the best Yamaha in 11th, with Iker Lecuona in 12th the top-placed Honda.

It was a tough morning for Alvaro Bautista. 15th fastest in FP1 for the rider who won twice here in 2023. He will be looking for significant improvements this afternoon.
