2025 Hungarian WorldSBK: Friday Practice LIVE UPDATES

Live coverage of the FP2 session from the 2025 Hungarian WorldSBK.

The Hungarian WorldSBK marks the eighth stop on the 2025 World Superbike calendar.

FP2 this afternoon is set to begin at 15:00 local time.

Toprak Razgatlioglu enters the weekend off the back of six straight wins and with the points lead for the first time since he won the title in October last year. The Turkish rider was also fastest this morning in FP1.

Nicolo Bulega, on the other hand, comes into Balaton with a points deficit for the first time this season, four points behind Razgatlioglu.

The Balaton Park track is sure to be a talking point this weekend - a new circuit on the calendar and a layout that has generated mixed reviews so far since a production bike test back in June.

Sam Lowes fastest in FP2

Chequered flag is out in FP2 and Sam Lowes ends the day fastest.

Razgatlioglu second from Iannone, Lecuona, Gardner with a late improvement, Bautista, Alex Lowes, Vickers, Bulega down in ninth, and Locatelli who completes the top-10.

14:48

Razgatlioglu on his final flying lap and it gets deleted in sector three for cutting one of the chicanes.

14:46

Montella just ran on at turn one. Not a crash, just got stuck in the gravel but he's going again now.

14:46

Sam Lowes now improving, and he goes fastest by 0.446s over Razgatlioglu - 1:39.528 is the best time of the day.

14:45

Alex Lowes now up to third on a 1:40.563. Impressive from the Bimota rider to basically pick up where he left off on Saturday in Donington by the looks of it.

14:43

Aegerter now into the top-10 in ninth on a 1:40.746.

14:43

Montella now up to sixth with a 1:40.669. Decent showing from the rookie with 5 minutes remaining in FP2.

14:41

Decent lap just gone in from Locatelli on a 1:40.667. The Italian is the top Yamaha now, the next best being Rea in 13th.

14:35

Razgatlioglu loses only a tenth this time in sector three versus his best, and he goes faster by 0.2s and into the 1:39s for the first time this afternoon on a 39.974.

14:34

Razgatlioglu consistently losing time in the third sector over the last couple of laps versus his best time.

International TV feed commentary reporting earlier that Razgatlioglu was told to reduce the engine braking setting, perhaps a factor in this time loss.

14:33

Similar story to this morning in the top-10 with seven Ducatis in there.

Lecuona still up there in third, though, along with Razatlioglu for the non-Ducati runners.

14:30

Crash for one of the Hondas, it's Lecuona, at turn 10. Just lost the front as he was coming back to the throttle, it looked like.

14:28

Sam Lowes the latest rider to lose a lap running through one of the  chicanes.

14:25

Razgatlioglu runs on at the final chicane and gesticulates at the bike. He's fastest at the moment but clearly not entirely comfortable.

14:24

Bulega now improving. Goes from eighth up to fourth. This was a thing this morning, seemignly, that is continuing now - he's losing a lot of time, three or four tenths, in sector three.

14:23

Another strong lap from Lecuona - up to third now on a 1:40.565.

14:22

Vickers continuing his strong form from Donington. Was P5 for a bit there but just bumped back to P6 after Lecuona goes fifth on the Honda.

14:21

Razgatlioglu was on course for another improvement but ran on at one of the chicanes.

Petrucci goes fourth with his latest lap, which he started behind Razgatlioglu. 1:40.825 for Petrucci.

14:19

Razgatlioglu to the top now with a 1:40.179, 0.363s ahead of Lowes.

14:19

Bautista quick to improve after the red flag. P2 with a 1:40.685.

14:16
Session resumes

Still not sure the cause of that red flag but the session is now back underway.

14:12
Red flag

The red flag has been thrown with 33:49 on the clock. Unsure of the cause at present.

14:11

Two run-ons for Iannone early in the session. Turn 15 earlier, now turn five.

14:10

Tito Rabat has crashed at turn nine. He's remounted and trying to exit the gravel.

Nine is the entrance to the first of the three chicanes in the second half of the lap.

14:09

Bautista up to third with his latest lap and 0.005s behind Razgatlioglu. Bulega back to fourth now.
