Rea now under pressure from Alex Lowes for sixth.
Bulega through on Rea for fifth at turn one beginning lap two.
Razgatlioglu leads the first lap from Locatelli, Sam Lowes, Bautista, Rea, then Bulega in sixth.
Petrucci up to 13th from the back of the grid already, and Iannone has already taken one of his long laps.
We're back underway for Race 1, and it's a holeshot for Razgatlioglu from Locatelli and Lowes who started poorly again but was good at turn one.
Warm-up lap is underway for the restarted Race 1.
So, everyone due to take part in this one bar Lecuona, Gardner, and Vickers, it looks like. Petrucci lining up at the end of pit lane, he will start the race from the back of the grid.
Vickers now taking off his helmet and gloves, so looks like he's out.
Petrucci it looks like will start but will start the warm-up lap from pit lane.
Late preparation still going on after the pit lane opened for Vickers, Petrucci, and Iannone.
Petrucci and Vickers have both missed the pit lane closing.
Lecuona will also join Gardner on the sidelines for this restart.
Pit lane is open for the quick restart procedure. Looks like no Gardner for the restart. No update on his condition as yet.
Iannone has a double long lap penalty for the restart for irresponsible riding.
Pit lane to open at 14:18 local time, so in around 5 minutes.
Gardner has been taken to the medical centre. Work ongoing at GRT to have a bike ready for a restart.
Iannone completely lost the rear in braking for turn two which looks like it caused it all. Just a total mess after that, so many bikes in a small space, and such a short distance from the grid even by turn two.
When this gets restarted, it will be the original grid and a reduced distance of 20 laps (reduced from 21).
World feed commentary reporting Go Eleven are preparing Iannone's second bike for the restart.
Petrucci, Vickers, Iannone, Montella all involved. Gardner possibly, too, and Lecuona. Think at least one of the Bimotas got caught up in it as well.
Anyway, everyone heading back to the pits now - everyone who has a functional bike, at least.
Red flag is out after that turn two incident.
Lights out in Balaton and we're underway for Race 1. Holeshot for Razgatlioglu from Locatelli, Lowes third.
A lot of riders down further back at turn two. Iannone one of them, Gerloff another.
Riders are off on their warm-up lap ahead of Race 1 at Balaton.
Many riders have spoken this weekend about the difficulty in being consistent at Balaton and avoiding mistakes, and we've seen several riders on multiple occasions running through the many chicanes.
Avoiding those errors could be crucial this afternoon to achieve a strong result.
For once this year, it does not seem to be a question of Razgatlioglu vs Bulega today.
Sam Lowes has been stronger than Bulega all weekend, the Italian struggling, relatively speaking, while Lowes has found a good way with the stop-start Balaton track.
Whether Lowes can take the fight to Razgatlioglu over the course of 21 laps remains to be seen but the British rider seems to be his strongest challenger.
Toprak Razgatlioglu has the championship lead and pole position heading into this race.
Four points is his gap over Nicolo Bulega, who starts from the second row in fourth today.
Surely Razgatlioglu, who has won eight of the last nine races, is the favourite for this one, but who really knows at what is a brand new circuit to not only WorldSBK but World Championship motorcycle racing.
Welcome back to live coverage of today's WorldSBK action from Balaton Park. Race 1 is 15 minutes away.
Lots of improvements over the line.
Sam Lowes goes second, Razgatlioglu marginally improves despite catching Iannone at the end of his lap and takes pole.
Bulega got up to fourth, too, but Locatelli keeps his spot on the front row.
Petrucci and Lecuona round out the second row.
Alex Lowes has crashed again, he's gone down at turn one.
