Warm-up lap

The riders are off on their warm-up lap ahead of the 21-lap Race 2.

12:56

Toprak Razgatlioglu starts on pole for this one after winning the Superpole Race earlier on. He's just told James Toseland on the TNT broadcast that he's going to run the SC0 tyre in this race, after running out of grip with the development SCX tyre yesterday.

Sam Lowes and Alvaro Bautista are also on the front row, while championship leader Nicolo Bulega starts 10th after retiring from the Superpole Race this morning.

12:51

It's a much drier - fully dry, actually - Assen circuit than in the Superpole Race this morning for Race 2 coming up.

12:49

Welcome back to live coverage of the Dutch WorldSBK at Assen. Race 2 is coming up in just over 10 minutes.

10:18
Razgatlioglu wins Superpole Race

It's victory for Toprak Razgatlioglu in the Superpole Race at Assen. Sam Lowes takes second place, and Bautista third.

Locatelli hangs onto fourth ahead of van der Mark and Redding who beats Gardner to round out the top-six.

10:16
Lap 9/10

3.8s now between Razgatlioglu and Lowes. Similar gap between Lowes and Bautista, but Locatelli and van der Mark are still glued together opening the last lap.

10:15
Lap 8/10

Razgatlioglu now leading by just under four seconds from Lowes. Bautista a further three seconds back in third, and almost two seconds then back to a Locatelli-van der Mark duel for fourth.

10:13
Lap 7/10

Bulega into the pits now, and this is a golden opportunity for Razgatlioglu to chew 12 points out of his championship deficit.

10:12

It was not a run-on for Bulega, he has a bike issue and he's out.

10:12

Bulega wide at turn one beginning lap seven and Lowes makes it through to second.

Bautista now closing in on Bulega.

10:11
Lap 6/10

Less than a second now between Bulega and Lowes, Razgatlioglu leading by four seconds.

10:09
Lap 5/10

Lowes is really closing on Bulega, 1.3s between them now as we enter the second half of the race.

10:07
Lap 4/10

Razgatlioglu still leading by just over a second over Bulega, while Lowes is up to third now after a few attempts to pass Bautista. 2.4s between Lowes and Bulega.

10:06
Lap 3/10

Razgatlioglu continues to lead, now by over a second. A bit of a train forming behind Bautista, now led by Sam Lowes who passed Alex Lowes and Locatelli on that lap three.

10:04
Lap 2/10

Razgatlioglu leads by almost a second, and 1.2s now back to Bautista in third. Sam Lowes now up to sixth after dropping back at the start where he ran on. Iannone has retired.

10:03
Razgatlioglu leads

Razgatlioglu takes the lead at turn five on lap two. He and Bulega now lead Bautista who has cleared Locatelli, but is already 1.5s behind the leaders.

10:03

Iannone ran into the gravel at the chicane at the end of lap one, and that's the end of his podium challenge in this one.

10:02

Locatelli and Iannone continuing to battle, and the Yamaha rider now has the advantage again.

Tito Rabat crashed out at turn one. His teammate, Bahattin Sofuoglu, is the only rider confirmed to be on intermediates.

10:01

Razgatlioglu up to second in the back straight past Locatelli, who then gets forced out the way by Locatelli at turn seven.

10:01
Race start

It's lights out in Assen for the Superpole Race, and it's Sam Lowes with the holeshot, but he runs wide and Bulega takes the lead from Locatelli and Razgatlioglu.

09:58
Warm-up lap

The riders are off on their warm-up lap ahead of the 10-lap Superpole Race.

09:56

It's only a 10-lap race this morning, but with the track already looking to be drying the conditions are sure to be changing throughout, but full wet tyres is the only realistic option here.

09:54

Axel Bassani will start from the front of the second row in fourth place having served his own three-place grid penalty in Race 1 yesterday for the same offence as Razgatioglu: impeding Nicolo Bulega in Superpole.

Alvaro Bautista and Andrea Locatelli complete the second row, with Race 1 podium finisher Danilo Petrucci starting seventh alongside Remy Gardner in eighth and Alex Lowes in ninth.

09:51

Sam Lowes starts from pole position as he did yesterday afternoon thanks to his Superpole performance, and will be looking to cash in on his potential this weekend after not finishing yesterday due to contact with Alvaro Bautista.

Bulega starts alongside Lowes in second place, with Toprak Razgatlioglu - who didn't ride in Warm Up this morning despite having not yet ridden this year's M1000 RR in rain conditions - third, elevated from his grid position in Race 1 which was affected by a grid penalty.
