Having helped Team Halfords to develop the all-new Honda Civic during the 2007 season, Matt Neal elected to leave the family-run squad for 2008 in pursuit of a third BTCC title.

In teaming up with Giovanardi at Vauxhall, he formed one of the most experienced line-ups on the grid but could win only once during the season at the wheel of his Vectra VXR.
