Matt Simpson will switch to Team Dynamics for the 2017 British Touring Car Championship after a solid rookie year with Speedworks Motorsport.

Having entered BTCC off the back of multiple titles in the European Hot Rod Championship and Quaife Intermarque series, Simpson made a positive impression this season with a number of points finishes in his Honda Civic Type R which saw him take 15th in the Independents' Trophy.

The British driver will continue to race under the Simpson Racing banner and the new partnership with Team Dynamics will give him mentoring and guidance from reigning BTCC champion Gordon Shedden and multiple-BTCC champion Matt Neal.

"I'm over the moon to be working with Team Dynamics for next year," Simpson said. "Their track record and pedigree speaks for itself, and we know we have a great package in the Honda Civic Type R they have developed. I can't wait to go testing with them in the New Year."

Team Dynamics boss James Rodgers has welcomed the new driver into the fold and is confident the squad can help Simpson progress up the grid.

"We're really pleased to have Matt on-board for next season," Rodgers said. "He was fast and reliable all year, and I now hope with our input we can help him move up the grid to the next level."
