Verstappen leads by eight seconds with the onus now on Norris to hunt him down

Will Verstappen pit again? It's an option, he has a fresh set of softs to go, or will he try to do what he does best and drive beyond his car to the end?

Piastri follows Norris in pitting the final time - returns to the track behind Antonelli, Russell, Lawson and Bearman in seventh

Norris pits from the lead for the second and final time, takes on used mediums and returns to the track a couple of seconds behind Piastri

Verstappen moves into the lead - he's bit out of sync, but this is a mighty performance from the defending champion

With the Mercedes' out of the way for now, Norris leads by 15secs over Verstappen, with Piastri 3.4s behind the Dutchman

Some hard and fair racing by Bearman and Hulkenberg as they go wheel-to-wheel into Turn 1

Hulkenberg hangs it out around the outside to fight another corner, but the Haas is through into Turn 4

Russell follows Antonelli in pitting, returns to the track behind his team-mate

Antonelli pits for a second time from second place - moves onto a fresh set of mediums, comes out sixth behind Lawson

And the new fastest lap goes the way of... erm... Franco Colapinto, in 17th and last

The Argentine has just pitted for fresh mediums, but that's still eye-opening.

Suggests the gulf in pace for new tyres compared to worn and the rate of drop off as the fuel burns

"I hope you're more optimistic than I am, It doesn't look very pretty from where I am sat..."

Piastri isn't entirely convinced by McLaren's strategy right now as they consider whether to babysit those tyres to the end - still a long way to go

Bearman passes Alonso to move back into the Top 10

The Briton still has some places to gain as others pit ahead and it'll be four straight top ten results for the very impressive rookie

Bearman becomes the latest to pit from fourth place - Verstappen,  Piastri move up another spot

An intriguing race unfolding as various strategies play out, but Norris is leading comfortably from Antonelli and Russell, with Bearman fourth and a charging Verstappen fifth.

Piastri is now up to sixth but has work to do from there.

Hadjar and Gasly, who were locked in a battle for points, have pitted again and are now towards the back of the field

Piastri pits to serve his penalty and take his pit-stop - he comes out on soft tyres, returns to the track in eighth place behind Liam Lawson

Verstappen on fresh tyres is back to his rapid self, passing Gasly for sixth place - next up, Bearman

Albon and Hulkenberg pit at last to revert the top ten back to its true self

Meanwhile, a soft-shod Russell passes Bearman for what is now fourth place

George Russell and Max Verstappen pit - second time for Verstappen

Resume seventh and 12th respectively

Nico Hülkenberg puts one over on Alex Albon for sixth place as they try to eke out the life in their medium tyres, though Oliver Bearman is now right on them

Norris rapidly reels in Verstappen and gets his man on the run to Turn 1, the gulf in difference between the soft shod McLaren and the worn medium Red Bull very clear
