Russell and Piastri have both been summoned to see the stewards over their late-race clash in Canada.
They will have to report to the stewards at 17.10 local time (10.10pm here).
"It was a pretty crazy race, a lot of things were happening. We had to be on top of our calls.
"As a team we did well today. We remained calm, pitted at the right time. The Safety Car worked out nicely for us but even after that, we were manging the gaps quite well.
"I love it. That was a lot of fun. Those kind of races, you need those once in a while."
Piastri comes home fifth ahead of Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso and home hero Lance Stroll.
Ricciardo and the Alpine pair of Gasly and Ocon complete the points scorers!
Verstappen takes the chequered flag to win a crazy, chaotic Canadian Grand Prix.
Norris takes second place for McLaren, with Russell completing the podium after a close-fought battle with Hamilton, who has to settle with fourth.
Lap 68/70: Russell passes Mercedes teammate Hamilton to move back into third place.
Lap 66/70: Russell finally makes a move stick on Piastri and he's up to fourth.
We might have a battle between the Mercedes pair for the final spot on the podium...
Hamilton swoops past Piastri with a clean move on the run to the chicane and the Mercedes driver is now up to third and onto the podium spots!
Lap 64/70: Russell went for a move on Piastri at the final corner but the pair touched, forcing Russell wide.
Russell has now dropped to fourth behind Mercedes teammate Hamilton.
Lap 62/70: While Verstappen continues to extend his advantage out front, Norris' attentions are turning to those behind.
He has his teammate Piastri and the Mercedes duo of Russell and Hamilton in close company.
It's a perfect restart from Verstappen who pulls clear of Norris. He's already two seconds ahead by the end of the lap.
We are racing again and have 12 full racing laps left to determine who will be victorious in Canada.
So the order on Lap 57 under the Safety Car
Sainz, Albon and Perez have all retired after their respective dramas, joining Leclerc and Sargeant on the sidelines.
The Mercedes duo of Russell and Hamilton pit under the Safety Car for fresh slicks.
Russell is on mediums, with Hamilton going for hards.
They return to the track in fourth and fifth.
Lap 54/70: We have a second Safety Car!
Perez has clouted the wall and broken his rear wing.
Meanwhile, Sainz and Albon have come to blows!
Albon is stuck up against the barriers and is out. This requires another Safety Car
That didn't last long as Norris reclaims second place from Russell on the following lap.
Russell hit the kerb at the chicane and ran wide on the exit, enabling Norris a chance to sneak past.
Norris runs wide at the hairpin and Russell takes full advantage by passing the McLaren driver along the back straight.
Russell is 3.861s behind Verstappen, who has just complained that he cannot touch the kerbs.
Lap 47 and Norris now pits to join his rivals in pitting for slick tyres. He's back out in second - just behind Verstappen. That was close!
Verstappen and Russell now come in for slicks on the following lap. But Norris stays out and is back in the lead.
The top three decide to stay out on intermediates for now, while Piastri pits for slicks.
Lap 44: Hamilton is into the pits and switches onto the medium compound.
He's out in 10th. Will this work out?
Norris has just ran wide and across the run-off down at the first two turns.
He does not lose any places, however, and stays third.
Lap 42 and Gasly is the first driver to gamble on slick tyres. He's put the hard tyres on. Is it too soon, or have we reached the crossover point?
