Isack Hadjar conceded his oversteer-induced crash in FP1 at the Monaco Grand Prix caught the Red Bull driver "off guard".
Red Bull appears to have pace enough to challenge Mercedes at the sixth round of the Formula 1 season, but the team was forced to complete a rapid repair job on Hadjar's car, after a heavy impact with the barriers caused significant damage.

That was only a short red flag period, but with one minute to go, we'll get the practice starts and very little else.

A bizarre problem for Perez and the red flag is out instantly. Smoke billows out of his cockpit, after his right front brake catches fire.
Into the final 10 minutes, and we're likely to see most drivers throw another fresh set of softs at this.
With 15 minutes to go, the top 10 is:
A huge spank of the Turn 1 barrier for Colapinto. He locks up on the way in, and clatters the barrier. But remarkably, he doesn't appear to have suffered much damage as he returns to the pits. A very lucky escape.
A purple middle sector and Hamilton goes top with a 1m13.026s. A Ferrari 1-2.
Purple sector one, purple sector two, purple sector three...Leclerc goes fastest with a 1m13.137s. He's 0.063s clear of Verstappen in a game of fractions.
Antonelli improves, but it's not enough to improve his position. Fifth fastest, as Hamilton comes out of the pit lane.
Without traffic, Russell improves to second. Leclerc now has softs on, and Hamilton is in the pits, likely fitting the red-walled rubber too.
Ferrari is still focusing on the medium tyres, and Hamilton has bumped back up to second. It turns out that Russell's effort was hampered by traffic.

Double waved yellows right now, as Norris parks up at the Neuvelle Chicane. He climbs out of the car, and the VSC has been deployed to allow for the recovery of the car.
Hadjar is now also out on the track, and has thanked the mechanics for their efforts.
A very lairy moment on the exit of the Swimming Pool from Hamilton, but he goes top with a 1m13.729s. Verstappen is now second with Leclerc third, but here comes the other Ferrari man again.
Antonelli goes second, but Leclerc lowers the barrier at the top to a 1m14.192s. This really does look like it will become a Ferrari vs Mercedes weekend at the front.
