Verstappen’s furious team radio message at Hamilton manoeuvre

It took only until Turn 3 of the first lap at the F1 Australian Grand Prix for Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton to get stuck in, prompting angry complaints from the world champion.

Pole-sitter Verstappen had both Mercedes behind him on the starting grid, and George Russell soon claimed the lead on the first lap.

But it was Hamilton’s efforts at Turn 3 that drew the Red Bull driver to vent his fury.

“He pushed me off the track” I was ahead at the apex! He pushed me off,” Verstappen said via team radio.

Jenson Button commented on the Sky commentary: “I don’t know how he pushed him wide if he wasn’t ahead. 

“He’s not pushed him wide. Max was good at giving him room or they would have collided.”

Hamilton was ahead of Verstappen in the early exchanges in Melbourne.

But it didn't last in a crazy race with mulitple red flags and a confusing conclusion.

Verstappen eventually cruised home to win - meaning Red Bull have won each of the first three races of the season - with Hamilton in P2.
