Toyota to officially 'launch' TF106 today.

The Panasonic Toyota Racing will officially kick-off its 2006 season today with a 'special media event' at its road car manufacturing facility in France.

Although Toyota's 2006 car - the TF106, made it track debut at the end of November at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona and has since been used extensively at Jerez, the 'unveiling' today is the official launch of the car they hope will help them challenge the likes of McLaren and Renault this season.

Although Toyota's 2006 car - the TF106, made it track debut at the end of November at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona and has since been used extensively at Jerez, the 'unveiling' today is the official launch of the car they hope will help them challenge the likes of McLaren and Renault this season.

Toyota finished fourth in the constructors' championship last year, just 12 points behind Ferrari, who took third.

The Cologne based team also secured their first F1 podium position, ending 2005 with five in total and 88 points.
