Brazilian Formula One wild child Felipe Massa was the first Grand Prix driver to put the HANS - Head And Neck Support - system through its paces with some minor contact with de la Rosa in Sunday's Grand Prix.

Montoya masters Monza qualifying with record lap.
Juan Pablo Montoya drove into the record books after he turned the fastest lap in Formula One history to win the pole yesterday [Sept. 14] for the Italian Grand Prix.

Barrichello does the 2002 win hatrick.
Rubens Barrichello won the Italian Grand Prix today at Monza, beating Ferrari team-mate Michael Schumacher by 2.255 seconds. It was the Brazilian's third win of 2002 and his fourth in total, achieved at Ferraris home track in front of the fanatical 'tifosi'.
Montoya retires from third.
After a strong qualifying performance the BMW WilliamsF1 Team had a disappointing race day at the 2002 Italian Grand Prix in Monza. Both Ralf Schumacher and Juan Pablo Montoya had a share of third place but had to retire whilst in this position.

Brawn back on the pitwall.
Despite back pain that caused him to miss yesterday's practice sessions, Ferrari technical director Ross Brawn made an return to his position on the Ferrari pitwall today.
Barrichello blows it in first session.
In a largely uneventful first session this morning at Monza it was a case of the usual suspects at the top of the timesheets, save for Rubens Barrichello, who suffered an engine blow after completing a mere four laps.

Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro Technical Director Ross Brawn was happy enough with second and fourth place on the grid for tomorrow's Italian GP, feeling that while the Bridgestone tyre the team has chosen might have lacked pace over one lap, it will be the best choice for the race.

KL Minardi Asiatech driver, Alex Yoong, returned to the cockpit for the fourth and final day of the Formula One test yesterday [Friday] that has been taking place at the Monza circuit this week.
