Hamidy leaves Jordan - it's official.
Jordan Grand Prix has announced today [Wednesday] that Technical Director Eghbal Hamidy has left the Silverstone based team. Jordan released the following brief statement:

One of Jaguar Racing's biggest backers has quit the Ford-owned Premier Automotive Group, which oversees the running of the Formula One team.

The BMW.WilliamsF1 team has discounted claims that it has destroyed the car in which Ayrton Senna died at Imola in 1994.

Arrows protested for Melbourne misdemeanours.

Schumacher wins 'Unesco Champion for Sport' title.
On Monday, in Paris, Michael Schumacher was presented with the title, "Unesco Champion for Sport."

FIA president Max Mosley has hinted that the problems surrounding the Kirch media group could bring about a change of control in Formula One, and prompt the beginning of the end of Bernie Ecclestone's reign.

The DHL Jordan Honda team enjoyed an encouraging start to the weekend in San Marino, with Giancarlo Fisichella finishing Friday's free practice session in third place behind the two Ferraris, and team-mate Takuma Sato, running at Imola for the first time, finishing a solid eleventh overall.
Shakedown at Fiorano for the F2002 for Imola.
Yesterday [Wednesday] at Fiorano, the three F2002's to be used in this weekend's San Marino Grand Prix were given a shakedown test. They are: chassis 217, which will be Rubens Barrichello's race car, 220 for Michael Schumacher and 219, the T-car.

Barrichello: Imola is a new start to 2002 for me.
After another week of testing in the F2002, Rubens Barrichello is keen to race it in this weekend's San Marino Grand Prix. With more test miles under his belt, the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro driver is now in a better position to assess this year's Scuderia challenger.

The Italian press are reporting that Rubens Barrichello has been ordered to take a wage cut by his Ferrari paymasters - or leave the team.
