Media reports have suggested the Ferrari could be courting controversy after using a filming day to try out some upgrades on its 150? Italia.

Felipe Massa completed runs in the car, as well as it both a 458 Italia and 458 Challenge, at Fiorano as part of a promotional film for Ferrari's official website, which tied in with the Brazilian celebrating his 30th birthday.

"It was so much fun: I've never driven three Ferraris one after the other like that," he said. "After so many hours in the simulator it was nice to have a break and enjoy myself on track."

However, multiple sources have suggested that the car was fitted with a number of parts that are set to be used for the first time in the Turkish Grand Prix in Istanbul this weekend.

Omnicorse.it has reported that the car featured change to the rear diffuser and suspension, while Globo and Autosprint have also reported that the team 'took a risk' by running development parts during the filming day.

While teams are permitted a set number of days during the season for filming and promotional purposes, regulations state that the these days aren't to be used to trail new components which will then be used at the race track.
